Anyone know if there are cheaper disc's out there, also wat are the pads worth.

As MS700 has listed, the price is $2500 for the front and back pads ONLY. Fitting and rotors are additional.

Ford charge 2 times more for the pads than BSM. You can also buy the generic pads from eBay for about $400 for the fronts, although I would not comprimise on brake pads.

I can get the 6 pot Brembo pads, genuine Brembo AMG pads. These are the same pads as used by AMG Mercedes in their top end cars, and are a composite sintered metal pad which are superior in braking performance to the stock pad. The only downside is brake dust, minor squeel under very light braking and added rotor wear. The advantage is neck snapping braking performance and suitability for club type track work. I used them at a recent Sandown track day, and a friend of mine is also used them on the day, no problems. Another car with some "so called track pads" melted his and wrecked the rotors as well.

If you are interested PM me and I can find out prices, but expect around $500 a pair. I can probably get the genuine (Ford/Brembo) four spots as well for around $400 a set.

Hi Guys

Another Brembo brake question.

How can you tell the difference between a 4 pot

and 6 pot Brembo Brake caliper.

Is there an easy method.

If size what is the size difference and yes size

does matter.

The 6spot are much larger and you can also see the outlines to 3 pistons (2 x 3=6 spot) on the castings.

I may be able to help with the Brembo pad / disc issue having used these brakes for some years now. Yes you can buy Brembo pads cheaper that ford spares and yes the pads and discs will both last about 35K and require replacement.

I have just bought another Tornado and if you check with 2 of the best performance brake suppliers in the country (Race Brakes or Cebco in Melbourne) they will confirm these wear rates. The solution is to do what I have done and that is to change your pads the day you pick your car up with "Race Brakes" pad number HB193 RB24 (4 pot). These will cost you $120 a set and will give you a very slight increase in braking performance and your discs will possibly outlast your car.

Anyone who still wants a set of brand new "Brembo" 4 pot pads, I have a set that have done 71Km from new. Make me an offer.
