I'm looking at replacing my pads (PBR's) with a better brand. I have heard some good reviews on the EBC product.

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these and whether I should be looking at the Redstuff or the Greenstuff.

Can someone also recommend a good brake specialist in Brisbane. I just rang 3 at random and everyone I spoke to didn't even know what a Typhoon was. It can be sooooo frustrating..........

I have greenstuff on my car and find they are a very good pad. They are noisy for the first few hundred k's from new but once they bed in they are great. The produce bugger all dust compared to the PBR's and Bendix's i've tried in the past. The dust they do produce is very easy to wash off as well. I havent tried red stuff but i dont think they would really be suitable for a road car because from the info that is supplied with the pads that they would be noisy and take to long to heat up.

Brc01 is a member on here who deals with brake components maybe PM him and ask him about prices and good workshops. Pm me for another company that arent site sponsor but whom i've dealt with before... :spoton:

Mate I can vouch that the greenstuff pads are way above Bendix ultimates in braking capability. Though I did have a drama with them leaking resin onto the rotor. Unfortunately, as I loved them when I hjad them, I would not purchase another set. Not without a garatee anyway.

I have to wonder if they are such a great pad, and when they were working they were fantastic, why arent so many more people using them?

I spose people may have been bitten in the past by the resin problem like you where so they tend to shy away. Im not arguing just reporting my experiences.. :spoton:

I've had some shocking runs out or Bendix ultimates and advances as well. two sets of front rotors by 70k's..ouch.... :spit:

I've had Green Stuff on for a while now & they are good pads. If you do a bit of racing try Red Stuff on the fronts but keep Green on the rears as the Reds require some heat for the first bit. The Greens have a higher coeffieient of friction so they'll feel like they've got more bite than the Reds.

I seem to get two sets of Green pads for one set of DBA 4000 rotors on the front.

I normally get my gear from Slacks Creek Brake & Clutch as they're fairly cheap & local, but if anyone knows of a cheaper suppier, I'm all ears.

the green stuff take atleast one stop before they really start to bite

the expressly recommend that yoy DO NOT break hard for the first 500 odd k's until the bed in coating has worn off. Having said that the perform very well once broken in and hot.. :fool:

We use EBC on all our own cars as well as our customers cars.

Taking into consideration price, durability, effectiveness, noise and dust...we find EBC to be a great all round!

We have used quite a few brands pads and EBC definitely represent awesome value for money...

Green for the street.

Red for the track.

Some of our customers actually keep a set for each application.

Cheers

Mate have you or any of your customers experienced the resin leaking onto the rotors. I to have used the greenstuff and cannot praise the performance of them highly enough. Just that they basically faarked a set of DBA cross drilled and slotted rotors within 100 km, by leaking resin on them and then burning into the rotor.

I must admit this was ftted to an EL XR8 auto, with are very under braked to begin with, and I did live in the Territory, so they did have numerous high spped braking applications in high heat, especially racing through the parklands coming back from Wangui falls.

If I could be sure that the leaking would not be an issue again, I would upgrade to EBC in a heart beat.
