it will be good to see how she goes, have you ran it through the gears at that power Jason, or just dyno work. she should pull a good number at the drags.

David

I've run it on the street with 300-340rwkw with no problems. In the interest of trans longevity this is not the daily drive tune however. Boost is capped at 10psi for daily driving, enabling the factory tcs to work and also have the ability to run the car on 95 octane fuel if needed.

I see no point running with such a large amount of power (300+ rwkw) as all it seems to do is consume rear tyres. Nor do I really have a desire at this stage to find the limit of the trans strenght.

Sounds like youve given me a good indication that 300rw is a safe level.

cheers Jas

Both the F6 and T have the same ZF torque rating.

Do the Phoon 6 speeds differ in anyway to the T's......?

The typhoon zf is rated at 600nm and the T is 450nm

Kewish in vic are modifing these atm with a shift kit that they have developed

They have done a few now so give them a call for more info 03 9793 2220

Can't see how the Auto is rated at 450nm when the car puts out 480nm !

Yes u are both correct,my mistake

The 450nm box must be for the n/a 6 only

1st 2nd and 3rd gears are really strong, its 4th 5th and 6th that may cause problems. Upgraded parts are available from the US. Don't know the company name but.

The ZF Six speed used in the BF Falcons is the same used pin the XKR and XK8 Jag's and the V8 5,6, and 7 series BMW's. All the rebuild parts are easily avaiable via the ZF parts distributor here in NZ so I assume OZ would be no different. Have had a A/trans rebuilder look through 1 after the plastic sump was damaged on a car transporter and he commented how strong it was (BTW this was only in a XR6 NA). Having said that it didn't last long once all the ATF Fluid spilled out onto the road and the transporter driver kept driving it!

If looking for upgrades I would start looking in euro/us car forums for hi HP BMW's and Jag's.
