just a quick update. I went back to the tyre place and they rebalanced the wheel .he said that it was not balanced properly last time. he had a drive in it to check for the alignement and told me that the alignement was spot on.

anyway, I hit the 80kph mark this morning to check it out and guess what.... still a slight shake.

it is a very small but quite quick shake of the wheel if that makes sense.

I am lost now. what could it be. I may have to take up ZAP's idea and take it to a proper place as these guys pull the wheels off and balance them separately. I may need an OCB.

thanx for the replies.

I will keep you guys updated

I had the same problem at around 80kmh and up shaking in the sterrring wheel

ive even change 3 sets of rims and 2 new set of tyres and still seems to shake a lilltle bit and the people that did my wheel aligments and balance did it 4 times and still could get it right, just recently I did a other wheel aligment at Bob Jane and they did a much better job and not shaking anymore just sometimes, I was also told it may be becuase of my rims 19" fusion deep dish rims and they told me becuase or the bigger dish at the back it harder to blance the wheel 100% but if it's becuase of my rims im not changeing them I lvoe these ones lol

PS: make sure you get your brakes machine that help alot aswell..

Mines been doing it since they replaced the diff. Have fitted new tyres and rims since & still there. Took it to Ford, said they would check balance on tail shaft, then rang & said it's not bad enough to worry about. Service tech was honest enough to suggest it might be worse if they stuffed around with it. We live to see another day. :spoton:

ford have machined my brakes so all good there.

to the guys that have this shake, a performance car should not have a steering wheel shake. I am trying to do everything I can to correct it.

I will be going on a on car balancing machine today and see if this resolves the problem

will advise of the results tomorrow.

I had a shake in the steering and no amount of balancing/alignments would fix it.

Ended up being a very small kink in the alloy rim. Only noticeable if the rim was on the front.

I have a slight vibration at 80km/hr.....caused by a whack against a curb. Ive had an alighnment since, swapped every tyre to different positions and still have it. When I was putting some new springs in recently I noticed that the front right wheel has a small amount of play in the steering. The left had no play as it should. I also punched the curb on the right side.... things that make you go mmmmmm.
