maybe its the accountant in me being conservative but...

I reckon most faults will show up in the first 10,000 ks, and it is good to make the most of your warranty to fix these faults. So.... Personally, I would wait for the 10,000 mark before starting mods (where your warranty is potentially out of the window).

You're right, it's the accountant in you.

It's an occupational hazard but, put prudence to bed when it comes to mods. :spit:

With 3000's you're ready to go, provided that you have done you 3000 k service, changed the oil and filter.

Yeh you can get it done now shouldnt be an issue at all....even if you need to take the car in for warranty work just reload the standard program and there will be no issues at all...as long as you havent made any hardware upgrades.

Above all make sure you dont just run the generic 10psi tune MAKE SURE YOU GET IT CUSTOM TUNED to avoid any problems.

Havent had good experiences with the generic 10psi tune and I would strongly recommend a custom tune.

well if the $$ would let me, I would get a custom tune and yeh not worry bout going an injector upgrade till atlest the warrenty is up. U might aswell make the most of wat you paid for.

I guess this brings up the question around paying for breakages yourself - or expecting Ford to detect the fact that you had an edit - and denying claims.

I am not sure which of the above I am subscribing to (maybe on the fence), but... I wouldnt want to risk it at the very start where most failures are likely to occur.

3000k - took me about a couple of months. 10000 k was at about 6 months. For me - that period involved plenty of good hard driving - and should have shown up any problems.

Go to town - everyone will do what they want - I was just giving a balance to the "mod it on the way home from Ford" guys.

Nizpro - it's even the chosen Edit house of many in NSW and ACT. Simon and Dave have a thorough udnerstanding backed by thorough knowledge and ability.. There are some others, and in Melbourne too, that make a lot of claims and sadly appear to influence a few inter-staters too about their 'claimed' credentials, which do not stand up to close examination. Take care as Editing this software is not nearly as simple and 'feature free' as some would have you believe.

I am looking at getting an edit done as well. Are there any reputable places in the northern suburbs of Melbourne?
