huys, I have put the voltmeter in and I hooked it up to the grey wire on the oxygen sensor and for some it only seems to stay around lean even when I floor it. can anyone think of anything I might have done wrong? thank you

I have one of the led gauges - and it works fine. Apparently there are either narrow or wide band sensors/gauages. You may want to look at the specs for your gauge and see what it needs. I am not sure which the XRs have - someone help?

PS - I assume you actually mean the air fuel gauge, not the voltmeter?

Yeah, don't splice into the factory sensor. Use the correct sensor for the gauge.

Get a socket for the sensor put in your exhaust and fit a new sensor there. I've seen a few cars with aftermarket O2 gauges spliced into the factory sensor, making the gauge function like a disco light.

100% right there, leave the factory Lambda sensor alone.

If it's not a wideband sensor I wouldn't waste the time & what do you wish to achieve, it's not like you're logging the a/f unless you buy a logging meter.

I use the LM-1 for my A/F ratios, but for a pemanent install I'd go the LC-1

Innovate

I bought mine from kadespeedandmarine.com.au

hey sorry, but I didnt understand. are u saying get a new sensor instead of the factory one? get another sensor and use them both?

Well.... I bought a Autometre Air/fuel gauge, and read all of the information on the website -and it is normal to pulse back and forth (disco), so... I dont see what buying a new sensor will achieve, other than extracting some more money.

It will make a difference if you get the correct sensor for the guage. The factory guage is a narrow band guage. It will send only 2 voltages, telling the PCM that the mix is lean or rich....

A wideband will give you a resolution of about 0.05, alowing you to see exactly whats going on, all the time.....

This is what you need, a wideband O2 sensor.
