Sat Nav

Featured Replies

Anyone have the BA Satnav Blaupunkt DX-V running with an aftermarket audio setup as in a seperate deck and speakers etc.. is there any issues with doing this?

currently I have the blaupunkt box with the lead for the prem sound and that runs off a dvd/deck.. when you add in the sat nav will you no longer be able to use the dvd player? any info would help!

With the map CD is it a CD or DVD and where do you buy the latest maps from?

So no one has put a satnav setup with an aftermarket deck or added a deck when they had factory satnav? Looks like the Alpine hub might be the way to go..

Not sure of the question, but here I go anyway...............

I've got VDO navigation through the ICC plus a JVC DVD deck running through the ICC also. I use a A/V switchbox. The dvd sound goes through auxillary audion, and the navigation sound runs through it's own speaker. So........I can have a dvd playign and still hear the nav *beep*. OR I can have the Nav on the screen and dvd sound playin. Does this answer anything?

cheers for that.. yer staring to make things clear.. just I knew the stock satnav ran through the icc speakers.. mine are not.. so might be an option to run an external speaker for the blaupunkt dx-v.. or I could go the alpine hub + a dvd player.. so it all intergrates..

just one thing.. you can have the dvd playing as in audio and video and satnav audio coming through the ext speaker.. so if you want to see the satnav you just flick the switch? but the dvd sound is still going through the speakers correct?

man I wish you were in perth so I could have a look!

That's right, just flick the switch it just changes the view, doesn't efect the actual dvd play audio or visual as such. The switch I have has 4 inputs so I could easily add a reversing camera and x-box/playstation or any other video source and just switch to it at the press of a button.

Is the video selector switch separate to the audio selector switch? So in essence you could have any combination of input video with any input audio?

From my understanding the audio is seperate..

The switch is just for the video source

The satnav has an external speaker and the deck will just run as normal then if the stanav need to talk it will come over the external speaker.. I think.

Ahhh cool :crybaby:
