Anyways, I went in to see how the work was progressing. and the panel beater has been tops anyways, I notice that I have a new rim and new rubber, which is great... and I ask him where my old rim is... he said that the suspension place should still have it.. so I go there, and ask for my rim only to be told that its in the bin and been taken away..OKKKK, a near perfect rim... a couple of scratches from the accidents, with good rubber.. and they binned it??? BULLsh*t. more like they kept it, or sold it. So, where do I stand?? I wanted to use that rim as a spare. Should I call my insurance company?? technically, aren't all the parts, damaged or not, still mine?? so shouldn't I get to keep the rim? Made me so angry that they threw it in the bin.. (if that's what they did). It would have served as a great spare!Does anyone know anything about this kind of thing?? should I have got it back?? or because it was under insurance am I just Any help would be great!! I understand it was probably not mine... but when you pay $2500 excess, it would be nice to have something to keep!!! It was just dodgy how the guy said it was in the bin... then he went out to check, came back 15 seconds later and said, yep, in the bin... taken away by now! I read some where that the insured parts can be claimed by the owner (me).. but perhaps that was at a further cost?? Anyway the std rims got "lost" and they eventually gave me $400 cash. The rim will be the insurance company's so dont worry about it too much.
