I'm interested in upgrading my exhaust by deleting rear muffler and putting hi flow cat. What's the best on the market?

I have done exactly that. I used a 3.5" Metal cat, and a custom made dump pipe aswell. I'm just waiting on a re-tune with the larger injectors.

The MetalCat 3.5 inch is good, I organised a group buy a few months back and got the price to $280 delivered. they RRP for about $398 or something close to it.

Then there's the ballistic cat I just had fitted. Have a look at the sureflow exhaust website and see how much it flows according to tests. Might cost a bit more but it's the best.

All it might be that there profit margin is bigger due to a larger mark up ,

have you thought about that.

For members in Vic who would you recommend for Cats and dump pipes?

What are the impressions of Ballistic Vs Metal Cat? Ballistic are approx $500.

Or is the old fashioned method best bang for buck - ram a pipe and gut out the orig cat?

My target is approx 300rwkw with an edit, injectors, springs and later larger IC.

is it true that if you get a too big exhaust setup you lose power? my friend said that if I get say an 8 inch dump it wouldnt give as good results as say a 4inch?
