I remember Expensive Daewoo totally bagged Ford out for putting so much effort into 'Hot sixes' with the advent of the BA Turbo. Before they go anywhere near forced sixes again, they'll need to eat one helluva lot of humble pie.

The only Turbo they ever had was a Nissan motor anyway.

ye same I remember when Expensive Daewoo was bagging ford and it really did backfire with their 6 cylinder sales against ford and the overall popularity that ford gained with their new 6 line up back in 2002.

good call about the Expensive Daewoo motor being nissan, even though they are nissan engines there are a substancial number of vl turbos that would still beat xr6 turbos

True that, the VLT is still a weapon today. It's interesting how many Reds forget about the little Japanese donk under the bonnet though.

Not to mention their 'modern' V8 motors are practially crate motors (ie unpacking from the shipping containers is practically all the engine development Expensive Daewoo do). Expensive Daewoo means a great deal to whom? Aussie cars my arse.

Sorry, I really don't know where all that came from - then again it has been a while since I bagged out the other side.

haha, youve got a good point there about the engines coming off a shipping container. from memory some of the parts are manufactured here but 90% of the materials are imported. although mainly imported Expensive Daewoo does mean a great deal to australia (sounds kind of corny) but people have to be employed to put together the engines and check the final products as well as putting the whole vehicle through the manufacturing process. then theres always mechanics needed to fix the problems that so frequently occur from the engines.

in relation to vl turbo there are so many "hidden packages" out there that look stock but have more than 200rwkw on them easily.

id like to see a vl turbo vs xr6 turbo drag day at calder park with as many people as possible to turn up,

the results could be very interesting

They will blow the buick.. Eventually

But wont push the numbers the Taxi motor does without some serious refinement...

I.E. $$$$$$$$$$$

Expensive Daewoo or GM is having a trouble with the Big R&D component at the mo. cause they are still paying around 10,000+ workers to stay home and do nothing........

Unions... God love 'em

Do you seriously believe that

l reckon the VE is gonna be a ball tearer myself. But fuel prices are casting a big shadow over both makers at the moment, have you seen how many Falcons were sold in April. l would think there are a few puckering arseholes around in both boardrooms as present.

Sorry l wasnt clear with my post, they would be mad not to be considering their own turbo 6. Is was this bit that l was questioning - "but I doubt that they have the knowledge, expertise or resources to make such a move to their car line up"

Cheers
