I have had my xr6t for about a year and a half and absolutely love it. But now I have had enough of standard (the new smell's gone!!) and I am in urgent need of serious horsies! Have heard standard exhaust is good enough with high flow cat. Is this true? What ECU and cooler? PLease someone help!

Is the car an auto??

If it is an auto I recon the ultimate combo would be!

Bigger dump pipe and bigger CAT

Valve springs

Injectors

Custome tuned Edit

Auto trans cooler

Second intake and air filter

The above should give you a solid low 12 second car.

Umm I dont know what way you want to go about it, but for a fuss free 12 sec car get yourself a Nizpro stage 2. I managed a 12.1 @ 119 with sp9000's on the back and optimax in the tank!

Good luck...

Ive got the 6 speed. Do you guys have any problems with reliablity once the car is modified? The car is a everydayer so I am just a little bit concerned. Nizpro kit is the one where the battery is relocated. right ? 12.1 I'd be over the moon with that!

Most important question is what state are you in?

NSW

In that case you have a problem. There are not too many 12second 6spd manuals in NSW. The best bet would be to come on the BIG VIC WEEKEND II. Have a great time, get your car tuned at one of the 2 best tuners in the country (HPF or Nizpro) and run a 12 @ Calder or Heathcote.

standard exhaust is good for over 300rwkw with highflow cat and centre muff removed... I know cause I run this set up :pinch: I also have the wog cooler (autotchinica), is $499 and has proven results :pooh:

From what I've learned over the last couple of years the easiest/cheapest exhaust mod is just what Jet has said. Free up the cat either by gutting it or getting a good quality larger free flowing one and replacing the centre muffler with straight through pipes/hot dogs.
