Let us know how you go with it... I'm interested to see if you notice a difference in cold starts, general running and how it feels when u put your foot down.

I doubt you would notice much difference between all mentioned above. For cars that use oil pressure as a parameter for injection then you would feel a noticable difference in cold starts etc with different viscocity oils. I had a Jackaroo that used a catapillar injection system and the difference between a 5w30 and a 15w40 was incredible.

I dont think the fully symthetics are worth it for a daily driver car such as the T... I just run a semi-synthetic Fuchs 15-40w and it seems to do the job just nicely, I change the oils religiosuly every 5thou but drive it like its stolen daily.

I've just got a oil & filter change at 7200K's and requested a fully synthetic from my ford dealer.

They let me know they use Castrol R Synthetic 0W-40, however I can't find anything on the Castrol site related to this oil. Though they did have a new one on the site called Edge 0W-40, does anyone know if this has replaced the old R?

The car feels like a million bucks, not sure if it's just in the mind but it feels like it's breathing better than before and just feels like it approves of the new oil.

The temp guage seems to sit a little lower than before also, not much but doesn't seem to be as hot, even with the aircon on.

A bit pricey but absolutely worth the extra $$$'s for the peace of mind.

After deciding to go fully synthetic I thought I might fire off an e-mail to castrol to see which variant they recomend as I was initally thinking their 10W-60. There response was they recomended the 0W-40 which I see on their web site is listed as approved by FPV.

I have heard people say 0W and 5W oils don't provide enough protection in hot temps and extreme conditions but if the oil is a 0W-40, it's still a 40 when up to opperating temp how would the level of engine protection be any different to a 15W-40 once at opperating temp?
