The 6sp boot and metal ring below the handle is smaller, but some numb nut at ford thought it would be fine to have the 5sp big ring with the 6sp small boot. I managed to get a 6sp ring to match the boot from my dealer, but it was a second hand one which had a couple of scratches in it. Ford need to realise this error and start supplying the correct 6sp ring to match the boot.Take it back and demand the 6sp ring. I feel like contacting ford directly about this myself. The ring that is sticking out is a separate piece. Suggestion: take the knob off NOW!!!! before the loctite has a chance to stick and you need a new gearstick completely. It will just unscrew. I think my boot will last for ever!Got some Transmax Z at home - just have to put it in. Sounds like its well worth it.
