The humble .22 magnum does a wonderful job, with the advantage that there is not too much mess to pick up or hose down.

Although I must admit the .243 (70 grain hollow point) over say 150 meters does an admiral job as well.

but anything smaller than a .243 and you're awarded poofda status up here....

The 30-30 will cut a hole straight through, it's a big slow moving slug good for cops. I did headshoot a buff with it but after the 6th round hit his head I thought I'd best stop before he got P1ssed off.

I just dont get it with cats.
