Boys (in Blue) Just Wanna Have Fun

Recommended Posts

So many cops and no riots, touch wood.

As a result of what happened last weekend at Cronulla, and the implementation new special policing powers (allowing the Police to search and impound your vehicle) You can imagine my trip from Sylvania this morning, that my eyes were firmly fixed on the speedo, as every 5th car was police vehicle.

Heading toward Sydney City, north Brighton-le Sands, along Grand Pde, I was steadily making my way to turn onto Grand Pde from a dimmly lit side street when a Highway Patrol XR8 came to halt at the lights. Not more than 2 seconds later, a Rapid Yellow XR6 with a really dark tint, (wasn't sure if it was a T or not) pulled up suddenly beside it.

The :spoton: that covered my face when I heard the HWY Patrol car start revving its engine loudly whilst still at the lights. My first thought was, 'no way, this cop wants to have a run' Next the XR6 does the same, not as crackingly loud as the patrol car, but my ears caught the exhale coming from a BOV, suggesting that ol yella is a Turbo..

I looked away for half a second, then the lights changed, all I heard was the BOSS260 scream like a banshee, tyres spinning, and then pair took off!!!

Wanting to take off after them, and join in on the fun, the time it took for my green light to appear there was no point.

It wasn't until I pulled into the Shell Service Station opposite the Moore Park SupaCentre, parked next to each other was...

A Rapid Yellow XR6T, an XR8 HWY Patrol car and with three cops in uniform talking amongst themselves. Still unsure where the XR6T fitted in the picture, the passenger side door of the XR6T opened and another cop stepped out.

I couldn't hide my  eating grin as I walked over to pay for the fuel, and couldn't resist saying

Me: Evening gents

Cops: G'day etc etc

Me: Can't be all that badder job especially when given either one of those two.

Cop: It's got its moments.

Me: So...who won???

Cops: Silence...with a 'oops! busted' look on each of their faces mixed

with a sly grin.

Hey, come to think of it, I never actually got an answer.

Cheers,

Darren

Where I live in the Hawkesbury (Nth West Sydney) there are a few large industrial areas which are dead at night...anyways I was washing my car at a car care wash at 9pm on a friday night (Heading home from work). I was driving out after finishing and a white ford turns the corner at speed and drifted straight pass me. :spoton: nice I thought...but when the car passed me I noticed all the "police" stickers on the side. I just thought he was on a chase or something. I turned my lights out and hoped out of my car to try and see or hear something. In the next street which is a dead end there was a car being thrashed and smoke rising above the buildings...The cops were thrashing this thing. Then I saw them coming back pass me and once they saw me they slammed on the brakes and pulled over next to me, I finally realised it was a T. The passengers window came down and the cop said "Its standard procedure" with a big grin on his face. I replied "I understand...I also drive a T". They laughed and said they love the T over the V8's.

do cops pay income tax??

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Ofcourse they do, its silly that it silly how it comes out and goes back to the government, but the government needs to know how much to to allocate as income tax revenue, even though it double handles the money.

Shame you didn't catch the whole thing on camera video as I'm sure the TV stations would have been happy to pay a pretty penny for the story :spoton:

............Next on Current affair, the boys in blue catch the bus home after having to confiscate their own vehicles under the hoon law :censored:

Could you imagine public's response!

Even if I did happen to have a camera handy, the footage would be a priceless keepsake.

Your at home with a few mates, talking away about who's car has what, dyno results, best 1/4 mile times...then you jump up and say,

'Guys you wouldn't believe what I filmed the other night...wait till you see this'

Cheers
