The handbrake shoes can catch on a 'lip' or sometimes are just over adjusted. If this is the case & you do bash them, the clip that retains the handbrake shoes can get damaged & not hold the shoes on properly which will result in the"shhh shhh" noise that is pretty common. A slikght tap is ok, but not too hard. If in doubht, rotate the disc around until the handbrake shoe adjust is visible through the disc & adjust it off so the rotor can pull off. Count the clicks & when the new disc is on just put it back in the same place. Although sometimes new discs can be slightly different & the original adjustment may not be right, just adjust them so the shoes dont touch the discs when handbrake is off but still lock the discs up when handbrake is up!

I have always had that sshhh shhh noise. Hey Cqae, are you talking about that small hole within the disc that is covered by a small black plastic? you can barely see through that small thing im gonna have another look at it next weekend and I will try disconnecting it through that small hole. What exactly do I have to do? unclick it until the rear discs can come off?

I will get the dba rotors , pads and calipers.my question is did you ever get this rattling noise over bumps with the standard brakes. if so I think you would need to change the calipers.

I have taken it to ford and the guy told me that it is the pads rattling in their shims and replaced the shims but it has not fixed it. I am going to try another dealer and see if they can.it is so bloody annoying I need to get rid of it.one way to test is when you go over bumps put your brakes on if there is no rattle it is the dammed pads rattling around.apparantly the performance brakes do not do this and that is why I may have to get them on the fronts

I think something go to do with the suspension.I havent had much of a chance to really test the brakes yet but they seem to be better and so far thank god there is no shudder I m gonna get some photos of how the new discs look and post it this weekend.cheers.
