07/09/05 10:40 AM07/09/05 10:40 AM #1 Guys can I please have some input from those who wave done something similar. My car has Prestige sound system from factory (no colour screen). Would the following setup work in my car. I want to put a 5.6inch Blaupunkt screen the sunglasses holder in the roof, it drops down and it’s perfect (I can not find the thread but this has been done before). Also I would like to put a Blaupunkt DVD player in the dash (where the tissue holder is). Screen.Blaupunkt IVMS-56015.6" TFT colour monitor designed for headrest mounting Standard 4:3 format, switchable to 16:9 widescreen ratio Resolution 720 x 234 pixels Viewing angles: 100 (above) / 450 (left and right) / 300 (below) On screen display of brightness, contrast, color and volume Built in on / off and source selector switch Headphone output and auxiliary input sockets Requires composite video signal Complete with installation bracket Dimensions 140W x 114H x 42D mm DVD PlayerBlaupunkt IVDPO1 In Dash DVD Player In-dash DVD/MP3 player (DIN/ISO Mounting) Digital Optical Output for Dolby Digital™ & DTS™ Composite Audio/Video input & output Flip-Down & Detachable faceplate Wireless remote control included Dimensions (WxHxD): 7 3/8 x 2 3/8 x 7 1/8 (in) Accessories include: IR-remote control, IR-Receiver, cable for power supply, AV-cable, installation trim rings, manual Blaupunkt 1-Year WarrantyThe DVD player has AV output so the composite video would go to the screen and I am left with the L+R audio signals. How can I get the sound to play through the car stereo?? Can I get it in through the iPod connection input (I don’t have in my car at the moment). If I do go ahead with this I am also going to do the rest of the sound system, 4ch amp for the speakers + 2ch for 2 12inch SVC subs in the boot. The whole motive behind this is that I can get the Blaupunkt stuff and subs dirt cheap and I am bored and need a project. ........I also miss the DOOF DOOF from my old car Cheers!!

The easiest thing to do regarding the audio is to run the Ipod through the DVD players AUX Input and the DVD player output directly into the BA AUX input. This way you simply press the AM button for DVD or Ipod sound without the need for nasty switches.hope this helps,Cheers

I am not sure how the AUX input works and how I am going to convert the composite L+R audio into the AUX input?? I assume the AUX input would just be 2ch just like the composite L+R coming out of the DVD player?!?!I better do some research on the AUX input.

Hence the dimensions would be different.I did not bother with this setup because the screen that was $99 would not fit in the sunglasses holder bacause it is too deep. Bugga!
