Posted 15/08/05 06:47 AM Posted 15/08/05 06:47 AM I think they are trying to break into the wrong market as a save our company type move... All mitsu's large cars have always been considered family cars (at least in my mind) never performance cars... Whilst both Ford and Expensive Daewoo have always been pushing the performance car aspect with their large cars, and then build a family car as well... (Didn’t Ford once say that the XT was still meant to be a sporty car, even though it’s the car chosen by Families and Taxi’s alike???)Especially as the ppl whom tend to buy the larger size performance cars are very loyal to one brand, very few will actually look at other brands when it come time to upgrade… (Just look at the Ford vs Expensive Daewoo rivalry)So I expect that if this is their only move that they are making to stop themselves from going under they are going to have to work 10 times harder to break into this market than any other market. At least with most other markets ppl will look at the car based on the car itself not just the brand…Just my 2c but I see Mitsu going under within the next 18 months…

I would say they are going to be pretty bloody good, as word on the street is that ktford has already been down to the local bitsnpieces dealer and organised the trade in on his XR6T.Trent.

SOONER rather than later ... I'm afraid that blue-blooded, or even the red-blooded variety, of Aussie performance car fans aren't going to be wetting themselves over a front drive Bitsanpieces.

It might take some sales from Avalon

Selling loads of those as well ...... not. My girl friend has one as a company car , we call it the "Bavarois" because it handles like a Chocolate Bavarian Gateaux. Sickly, spongey and bloody allround stodgey ( spelling ) to boot
