New Clutch

Hello,

I have a MKII 6spd T with 250+ RWKW and the standard clutch is slipping worse and worse now ...

I would like some info on what are some good clutches to get and where in melbourne or Albury I could get them. I really have no idea where to start of what to look for....

l dont have first hand experience but l would start with Mal Wood. They are Brisbane based but have dealers in all states. Hypnodoc amongst others has experience with their kits. You could also try contacting Ben (WBT56) via PM, he works for Mal Wood

Work out what you want and ask Mal who can fit them in Melb or Albury. They are very helpful bunch of guys and know the XR6T very well.

Race brakes in Racecourse Rd did my clutch. Cushion button was rated at 600Hp and drove like the stocker. Could'nt fault it.

Go in and see Brad or howard tell them I sent you. These guys do alot of race cars as well as all the targa tassie cars. Alos have done a number of T's as well as John Bowes and ambroses street cars.

I have just fitted a mal woods 6 speed conversion to my t it came with an 11 inch clutch and it works a treat give him a ring he is easy to talk to

We can supply you with one of our option 3 clutch upgrades for your XR6T. The kit comprises of a New 11'' Steel Flywheel and an 11'' clutch assembly, the pressure plate has 2600 lb clamp which is much higher than the factory unit with only a slight increase in pedal effort. The cost of the option 3 is $1310 plus $45 delivery to Melbourne. I would like to suggest that you fit one of our New Braided Fluid Lines as well, this redirects the fluid line up the passenger side and along the back of the motor well away from the heat of the exhaust, the cost of the fluid line is $135. I can arrange fitting for you in Melbourne if you wish for only $230

I'm pretty sure this clucth will fit as it's a T56 just like the holdens but the clutch by textralia has apparently been selling up a storm in the states and is building in popularity here. It has a special material on both the clutch and flywheel which has a high level of bite. Apparently no other clutch runs this material and is patent pending.

Nothing stands out as bad as total lack of product knowledge, CSV LS1. The LS1 runs a 12" clutch with a high style diagpragm and a 26 spline hub. The Turbo runs a 10.5" clutch with an intermediate style diagpragm and a 23 spline hub. About as much chance of it fitting as the crank from the LS1. Ben.

Thanks for your help Jono, Mal Wood, god666 and all other who replied to my topic! I will be contacting all mentioned Companies.

I have also been offered from Nizpro Melbourne a organic, sprung center clutch rated to over 350rwk (one running on a 500+rwkw T I was told) fitted and gearbox oil for $1150. I was wondering if anyone has one of these, if so how does it feel etc...?

They also offer a ceramic button disc for extra $150.

No need to respond like a goose. It was just a suggestion since they are both T56's. Obviously I'm no expert, just trying to help out.
