I've heard so much +tive feedback on Prestons and this $700+ mod I may do that one (I just have a shift kit, and a top notch trans cooler is going in shortly) - but internals will eventually fry no matter what you do. Luckily my box is very very new and as we also know it is very cold in Sydney right now.....but now that get's me thinking colder = more dense air = more power = more auto stress. I'll be moving up to, say, the 350rwKw range next, will this $700 box of tricks still be adequate for that? I cannot believe why people still get suckered when there is so much info and options available now.macka$4500 is a lot of money, yes. "Suckered IN?" Maybe NOT! Before you cast aspersions on people, Macka, find out what was done!First thing, this occured early last year, before much info was available on the trans mods required to overcome failures.Hustler had a major meltdown in the trans. The tranny techs stripped the gearbox completely, to find out what let go, what was inadequate, and what could be done to make it optimum. I believe it was diagnosed as the oil pump causing the primary failure due to inadequate factory clearances. Most of the moving components required either replacement or at the least, precise assessment for suitability. The tranny shop specialises in race gearboxes/ diffs and performed a bit of their own magic to key components to improve performance under harsh power/load conditions.I believe Hustler drives it pretty hard..... in Broken Hill where the summer's are pretty stressful on the people, let alone a Ph2 ute!He had a total rebuild of the tranny, with all the extra goodies that I've had done, and has NOT had any further problems that I know of. At around $700, the Preston Auto mods sound like extraordinary value. In the case of MrPulsar..... Get your tranny done now before it costs you $4500.cheerstom Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/18964-auto-problem/page/2/#findComment-275653 Share on other sites
