July 19, 200521 yr #1 So there I was, coming home from a late night at work. Its dark. The T has done well on the drive home and I was enjoying the cool intake temps, and I hammered it up my street with highbeams on.Come up to my drive, the street is empty so I swing wide, and fang it into my driveway at an enthusiastic pace and as soon as its straight am preparing to hit the brakes....only to see a guy standing about 6ft inside my drive...which I could only see from about 12ft away. I hit the brakes relatively hard (still with some saftey margin to spare as I drive according to what I can see and do in the conditions, but not a massive one!). I see the guy is in dark blue overalls (hard to see him) and has a huge german shepherd with him. He and the dog moved out of my way rather quickly to say the least. Im preparing myself to jump out and ask what the fark he is doing on my property, when I look up and see his overalls have badges on the side...not just badges, but police badges. Oh dear. So Im wondering - and I about to cop it? (Pun intended...)Luckily he is a nice guy. Says someone did a runner from the local hotel and was seen jumping fences in the area. Not a mention of the acrobatics he and the dog had to do when I arrived home. Perhaps they are used to it. I asked him if he would like me to take him into the back yard so he can check, and he said he had already been in there. (Nice of him to let himself in...)So there you have it, almost squashed a cop and his dog in one go, on my own property. I reckon I would have got 10 points for the cop, double points for getting his dog as well, and perhaps double points again for getting them both on my own property.

Not sure how many points though. He is allowed to be on your property. Its called "Implied Consent".hahaha would have loved to have seen the blokes face....He couldnt have done sweet *beep* all in regards 2 your driveway entrance "speed" because its your own property and your entitled to drive on it however u like, as long as your under .05 <{POST_SNAPBACK}>The offence would be in the manner that he was driving on the highway. The fact that someone was killed once the car was off the highway is irrelevant.Imagine I'm pegging along a country road, go flying off the side when I get to a corner and kill someone standing in a nearby paddock. Do I just walk away because the person didn't die on the road?
