Washing Your T

believe me when I say I have tried em all, it's a passion (err, disease) to try to get the best results possible.

Colors will vary the results, so look at your color before choosing a polish/wax or combo.

For bright colors (say like my old burnt red Monaro) the autogym was awesome. Looked pox on my Mercury T though .

So I used their clay bar to remove everything on it (workes absolutely fantastically well) and used Techwax. Looks great. Do note however, you MUST leave it sitting on the car in a cool shady area for a few hours to sure a bit, if you wax on/off (sorry Miyagi sun ) panel by panel, you will get a sh*tty result.

Interior wise, the latest foaming Meguires stuff is their best ever, highly recommend the leather conditioner/cleaner and the plastic/interior foaming cleaner too

Tell me whats your view on their carwash products.

I've found that the techwax carwash strips the tech wax (water doesn't beed as much following ) and I am therefore using the softgel instead.

Also whats the difference between the techwax and the new techwax paste?

Such important questions ......................and to think millions are dying of starvation all over the world.

Oh well I did give the equivelent of 3X techwax, 2X Hi Gloss tyre shine and maguires car mit to the tsunami appeal

I recently spent hours with the Bowdens on the Sunshine coast. They make their own. After they told us what was in Meguirs etc I would never use them. I have been using bowdens for years and Edge my Neighbour used it on his T last week when he trqaded it and got top dollar.....

Given thay have millions of dollars of Falcons, they know! Their entire range of products are sensational and far better than retail stuff!

PS Don't use a sponge to wash your car. It traps the dirt. The only way to go is the two bucket method!

I remember the Bowdens guys just bagging the sh*t out of Meguirs at the Ford Vs Expensive Daewoo show this year, saying loads about their products not dulling the paint, not adversly affecting the paint long term etc.

Now they may be true , but I have doubts when;

a) A tiny little Company simply bags a giant of the global industry (that is approved my a huge range of quality car manufacturers and

b) says that their extensive testing prooves...., are they saying they have a larger garage of test cars, more emplyees, more years of actual cars in the sun????

c) anyone claiming the competition is just sh*t is suss to me and not worthy of my hard earned$$$

d) how long has there products been around? A few years max, so how many years testing in the sun have they actually done???

Nothing against em at all, just their approach to the competition

As for a car wash to use, the new Techwax car wash range is a bit shiat, the older gold class is much thicker and although it suds up less, it is more complimentaary on the wax itself, it also leaves less streaks and more wax on the car IMO. I now use the Techwax carwash on my wheels only!

The paste is a new thing, more aimed at removing marks and it's because it is a bit more of an abrasive paste rather than a non abrasive wax.

Bowdens have had all the competitor products tested. They never bagged Meguirs. They just told us what was in most of em and that's why they dont use them. Some nasty chemicals in some of them.

One well known product was TRIX dishwashing liquid.....

If we were half as passionate as they are about their cars then we would listen to what they have to say. I am not saying their prducts are better than everyone eleses, but commercail products are made to a price not quality.

David Bowden spared NO expense in getting his products made. The results are obvious to those who use their stuff.

As he has the best collection of Falcons I have seen then I bow to his judgement!

The phase 1V looks great....

They have just won a design award for their car wash bucket!

Cheers to your post Dallas, good stuff. BUT, they totally bagged everyone when they were in Melbourne at the show, I seriously had my money out until they started mouthing off, there were 3 guys too, not just one sausage.

With that, I put the moola away and walked on by...

I do not doubt merguirs could be mass produced dodgy stuff in parts.

Anyone serious about a great range of products and advise, should search the web for a mob called "wizzard something, polish wizzard" something like that.

They offer advise and sell everything for the car, to suit every budget (yes, you can spend a grand plus on polish if you like)
