This may have been covered but I cant find sooooo......

Not that I am saying that it should be done but in theory if one was to gut the cat would there be many advantages, If so what would they be.

And diss advantages if there is any.

Is it hard to do

Will the beast sound better

And so on

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Minstral as you are probably aware we have a number of alleged"cat punchers" lurking in the shadows that have partaken of this evil anti EPA mod. I am sure that they will make their contributions in good time. In the meanwhile I think a broom handle will serve you well :Imwifhim:

Well, Dr Z doesn't seem to be around anymore, so I thought someone had better take care of the legal stuff. :P Wasn't passing judgement - information is power! And mechanical stuff ain't my strong point (altough I do recall that you would have to compensate for the change in back pressure with the killed cat, so there are other costs to incur in the engine apart from the risk of fine).

How will they know? I don't know, but if the stuff about flames out the exhaust is true, you'd think that might be reason enough for a curious copper to pull you over for a look and a fiddle. If and when Victoria introduces compulsory annual emissions testing as part of rego (every State will, eventually), the fact that your cat is gone would show up in what comes out the back of the car (unless you put in back in for rego purposes, of course :Imwifhim:).
