As has already been said, CUSTOM TUNE, why go at it half arsed igsta? You deserve to have it go to its maximum, so "just do it"

agreed... but you have to gap the plugs regardless... no point custom tuning if your plugs arent gapped. Got to do them first :laughrolling:

I have an autometer electronic boost gauge. It spikes to 13 sometimes but most of the times 12.

I would get it dynoed... your boost should be at 10psi (+ - 1) I dont think you would get 13psi from the 10psi standard tune... the problem lies somewhere else. Get it on a dyno. Gap the plugs first :laughrolling:

I know I should get it custom tuned and I will. But how can a product like this be sold and be so undriveable. They sould sell it stating a custome tune is necessary with this product.

So why arent the plugs gaped to this dimension from factory. But dosnt making the gap smaller mean the spark is smaller, making less power.

made more power in my case... dont know the answer to the factory question... maybe someone more techinically minded can answer that one,

Wouldnt the tuner check plugs anyway, especially if its bouncing all over the place.

yep, they dont have to check... stick it on the rollers and they will know straight away after the first run... they will have to gap them... at a price!! better of doing it yourself because you know it has to be done anyway... and you can have the 10psi map loaded in for a little while b4 you go in for your CT.

Sorry to hear about you dissapointing Edit experience. Try gapping the plugs first as others have suggested (it's free, only costs you some time) and then if it's still running :sleepystuff: then go for a custom tune.

Some people bag Geeseman for being an "APS stooge" but you don't seem to hear of these problems with Unichip. Maybe because the car is usually dyno tuned as part of the installation process?
