Exhaust Questions

Great tips, thanks fredwho!

Yeah, call me a nutter, but I'm pretty damn keen on a better note. And, for the power I'm aiming for eventually, it seems that the cheapest way to go is the centre muffler option. A cat back would no doubt sound that much better, but for the $$ I think I'll stick to option 1.

I'm already convinced re the Edit vs piggyback, and if and when I go that route I'll certainly be going the Edit route with a custom tune at a reputable tuner (been asking all these questions already, if you haven't already noticed!!).

As for the DIY CAI, I hear ya. I'm pretty fussy about a factory look and will probably pay a few extra $$ to get the Typhoon snorkel and do a 'proper' job in an attempt to make it look as factory as possible. Again, I've already got some great tips on this from other helpful forum members.

Can I just say again, I LOVE this forum!!:pinch:

Bugster.

If you're hell bent on an exhaust, there's nothing wrong with the note delivered with a Remus cat back.

Power wise, as others have indicated (including your own suggestion), the only real problem areas are the centre muffler and cat, and even these aren't really a drama with the power you are looking for.

I have to disagree with some people here about the choice of management, as an edit system is infinitely better than a piggyback for the many reasons and the hundreds of cars that now bear the proof of how good a proper edit can be.

It of course comes back to the tuner. Piggybacks will be cheap on the S/H market, but remember, you only get what you pay for, and one really has to question why people are selling their piggybacks in the first place. Pretty obvious if you ask me.

1. Either Remus or centre muffler only - forget the cat with the power you're after.

2. Edit.

3. The el-cheapo do it yourself CAI can really reduce the value of a car when you go to sell it!

My thoughts.

totally disagree on point number 3.... I will take a pic of my 2nd cai and post it up (2morrow).... there is no way you would pick it up and it looks 110% factory.... more well hidden then any ss kit or ones you buy over the counter

I got my dealer to swap mine over from my old car to the new one I just bought.... Got a couple of nice comments about how nice the whole setup is and you guessed it, how they would of not of noticed it if I didnt point it out.
