Well the last two weeks has been good - with my new EDIT. Not to many casualty's though <as knowone whats to run>

HPF told me when they did the initial tune that I was at my valve spring limit, so tommorrow im off to Nizpro to get them changed, and while its there im getting my tune tickled a bit.

No disrespect to HPF and Rob, as they have done wonders with the car now. Its using less fuel and has a good kick in the pants from about 2800rpm. But its has compressor surge when on WOT at 4000-and above. Only a small little thing and HPF was going to get it back, but since im getting the Cobra valve springs and they will be fitting them, I figured - Let Simon work has magic and see what the outcome is.

He seems to have proven his ability to Tune the FordEDIT - 130mph over the 1/4 isnt bad in my books

Thanks Guys, and thanks HPF........... will let yous know how I faired tommorrow night.

Great stuff Allen,

The HPF guys told me the same thing that my valve springs are its limits after a tune.

What are Nizpro charging you for the springs and tune all up?

Thanks,

Rob...

Said they would do the spring - fitted for $750, takes them about 4hrs to do and they dont pull the head off to do it apparently. Then the retune said about $200 depends on how long its on the dyno I guess.

Keep us posted with the results Allen :crybaby:

Allen,

I hope it goes well.

Check out my car while you're there.

You guys are lucky having multiple good tuners down south.

Allen, I am somewhat confused. I would suggest the issue will be valve spring related. I would Guarantee if you went back to HPF that Rob will play around and fix the issue at no charge.

$750 for springs I suggest you shop around. I ended up buying mine from Nizpro for $280 and getting them fitted by my dealer for $200, $480 new springs installed. (New Oak Ford)

I would suggest if you did it this way and went back to HPF with the new springs in Rob will look at your issue and re-tune the car with the new springs in for $0.

Why end up paying $500 more for something you don't need to pay for?

From experience changing tuners will cost you money. Let the tuner who started the project finish it, give them the chance to rectify your issue, I am sure Rob would be upset if he new something was not 100%.

Mate bring your car over to me ( I am in Vermont) I would love to have a drive, and understand your feelings on your box and surge for my own understanding... :spoton:

JB,

With these commercials it's no wonder you get your tuning for free!

You've obviously learnt something from the guys that used to plug the APS products continually.

If it works, good luck to you.
