Hello again,

some cooler pics & info for anyone that's interested.

Core dimensions: 450 x 285 x 73

Core type: tube & fin low restriction

Pressure drop @ 300rwkw airflow: 0.6psi

Temperature drop @ 300rwkw airflow: 96 in, 35 out, 26 ambient

They had dyno sheets showing approx. 20rwkw gain on a stock xr6t from the cooler alone with no other mods. Apparently it has approx. 3 times the surface of the stock cooler. I'm not sure how this compares with other coolers, perhaps one of the tuners could comment, but it sounded like good value to me, I guess time (and a couple of dyno runs) will tell.

Cheers,

Steve.

does anybody know a price on these coolers?? and whats involved to install them do u have to shorten the top intercooler pipe or stuff such as with the PWR cooler? im looking to buy a cooler within the next 2 weeks. :Imwifhim:

Hi Guys,

I fitted my ASE cooler today, it was pretty straight forward, although I had a couple of interruptions, I got bitten on the calf by my cranky old avatar when I foolishly got between him and my pup when they were fighting over food (don't feel sorry for the pup, he's 52kg at 11 months old). As you can see from the photos there wasn't a great deal of grinding to do, and I just loosened the power steering cooler clamps and slid the pipes towards the drivers side about 10mm. I also had to very carefully bend the lower air-con condenser fitting towards the passengers headlight, but it didn't look like it was in the right position to start with. I replaced the spring clamp on the lower cooler hose with a real one and relocated the horn under the drivers side headlight. I'm not sure where ASE put the horn (I didn't have instructions) but it seemed like as good a spot as any. I just had to make an extension wire.

As for performance, I can't honestly say there's any noticeable difference in peak power, however boost seems to come on at lower revs and a lot harder, giving it more punch down low. Boost also seems to fluctuate less than it did before at full throttle. I'm more than happy with the results and can't wait to fit some bigger injectors and get it retuned.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi Trough Lolly,

Only the lower lip on the cooler side of the bumper support/crossmember as shown in the photos, which are taken from underneath. ASE said they would do a special price of $799 for 10 or more coolers for a group buy. I don't know how many are interested, but it's worth a thought.

Cheers,

Steve.

I'm interested in that price, what do they charge to deliver ?

The original price was $899 delivered so I'm assuming $799 also includes freight, but it would pay to check with Josh or Dave at ASE. I picked mine up when I was over there on holidays for $860 so I guess they charge $39 for freight.

Cheers,

Steve.
