Ride Height Changes

O.K. It would seem from a few members that putting 19's on will increase ride height and that might be the case for mine too as I didnt measure to compare the 17's.

At the moment though, the front is 360mm and the rear is 370mm from arch to centre cap. Can anyone else confirm that the lowered height should be 345mm?

Does anyone else have 375/30/19s on the rear and, when lowered, will the tyre rub the wheel arch as it kinda looks awfully close?

Regards,

Max

Thanks Max, I will measure mine in the morning, I think 10mm would be enough. :spoton:

I do not think many people would have 375/30/19s on a XR, it would look like a F1 car

I want to lower my car also. Got the 17's atmo but wanting to go to 18's. Can ppl please post some pics of there cars with lowered springs so I can see how low they are.

Will SSL front and rear be to low. Is SL front & SSl rear the best way to go.

Thanks guys,

I think SSL in the front sits them a bit too low, unless you get even lower than the SSL springs in the back. It looks funny

SSL in the front sits the guard about level with the top of the tyre, maybe the tyre slightly in the guard IIRC.

Could anyone tell me what the best lowering options for a ute is?

how much better is it to use the replacement leaf springs as opposed to just using lowering blocks?

Thanks

Chris

My appologies for bringing up an old-ish topic.

I am going to sound like a grandpa, but to all the people that have lowered their T's, how harsh is the ride after new springs went in?

I'm considering it but I drive the car 5hrs+ every day, and it's running 19s, so I'm trying to keep it as comfortable as possible.

My AU was like a go kart and I'm trying to avoid that. It handled like a dream though...

I did the SL in the front SSL in the rear and to tell you the truth, I dont think the ride is that much stiffer at all from factory. It's very comfortable to drive, but mine is also on 17's if that makes much difference.

I drove it to Sydney and back twice in the space of a week(longest I've ever driven the car), and it was magic.
