20/02/05 01:09 AM20/02/05 01:09 AM #1 My car has this idling problem that a few seem to have. Before anyone says "clean the throttle body", I've done it and it didn't make a difference. I've had the car in the dealer numerous times and they haven't been able to fix it. I've had the unichip re-tuned. Nothing seems to make any difference. For those of you who don't know about this problem, almost every time I stop the car, the revs will drop momentarily to about 200rpm then jump back up to normal. This I could live with, but often it stalls. It's not unusual for me to stall at every set of lights I stop at in a trip.So any ideas people have, please, please let me know.If I can't get it sorted soon, I'm just going to go to the dealer and say rip out the APS kit, make it standard and don't give it back to me until this issue is sorted.

I said that's total crap as I run a clean as a whistle K&N aswell as BP Ultimate fuel so my tb should be clean as a f'ing mirror! didnt fix a thing anyways.let me know with how you go anyways thanks, PM with any results would be great.as much as id love to tell u rip the APS out due to all this crap lately, dont. cuz I do believe its a ford CPU problem.
20/02/05 04:54 AM20/02/05 04:54 AM #5 Well, I have the same problem. I can understand your frustration. I have a wife and kids and it is a real concern when they are in the car. I am currently looking at completely getting rid of the factory and APS computers and upgrading to a Motec or similar. I love the car so selling is not an option. What do you think?

20/02/05 12:11 PM20/02/05 12:11 PM #7 This is a known bug in the Ford programming and can be easily fixed with the Edit. Part of the standard upgrade actually.
20/02/05 01:23 PM20/02/05 01:23 PM #8 Author How much do you guys reckon it would cost me to change to the Edit? It is sounding very good, but I need to know wether or not I can afford it right now.
20/02/05 05:11 PM20/02/05 05:11 PM #9 more so than the factoy pcm its comon that the throttle body and or sensor at the pedal play up!
20/02/05 08:13 PM20/02/05 08:13 PM #10 I got a similar problem with my idle. It doesnt drop or try to stall. When I do a cold start, as the needle starts to drop from the "autochoke" around 1000rpm the needle starts to surge.Car begins to shake slightly, and the needle drops and rises about 100-200rpm. it doesnt drop below 600rpms though. I got it boooked in with my dealer again this tuesday, hopefully they will fix it or I`ll have to look at getting the EDIT sooner than later..
