Hi all

Went sniffing around my local Ford/FPV dealer here in Perth for an XR8 snorkel to make my own 2nd CAI for my T. At first he tried to sway me toward an SS inductions kit, but soon cottoned on that I knew what I was on about (thanks to this forum!). He then said the Typhoon airbox was a "restricted part" only available to FPV owners but he could fit the xr8 snorkel to my current airbox.

He said that they discard XR 8 snorkels all the time and they will install one under the headlight, cut a hole in my current air box and fit it all for $99.00. Gotta be happy with that!

I save buying (or scavenging) the xr8 snorkel ($55), the pipe joiner ($20) and I get it fitted by a Ford Dealer. Hopefuly they cut a neater hole than me. They also make good money ($99 for 30 mins work - if that) using discarded parts so everyone's happy!

I'm booked in next Wednesday. I'll let you know the quality of workmanship then.

This forum is a fantastic information source. Thanks! :crybaby:

Mark

That sounds like a good lurk you have stumbled across there mate. They fit the SS inductions to the xr8's a we pick up the xr8 snorkels as left overs.

Well done. :crybaby:

Nice one Mark, glad too see it's been of assistance to you.

Don't forget to post up some pics when you get it done.

This would mean they will cover it under warranty too!!! :crybaby:

Can someone get one of these XR8 snorkels that they throw out? I will pay for postage and for your trouble! Spare parts want about $70, which to me is a bit steep.

Also if anyone has a standard T intake snorkel (the factory one) let me know if you want to sell it. I beleive they are bigger then the standard NA ones??
