Officially there's no recall or even major bulletin item about them - at least on my Aug03 build there isn't.... I do have some splits across the tread pattern though... May get them checked for piece of mind...A.
axw01 Legacy Donating Member 127 Member For: 23y 6m 2d Location: Brisbane QLD Posted 02/12/04 02:08 AM Posted 02/12/04 02:08 AM aaronmihe, I put a new set of shoes on mine in June 04 and after 3000klms, had a crack across the tread. took it back to where I got the tyres and they said that they were told by dunlop to be on the lookout for these types of problems (also problems with sidewall cracking). the tyre dealer was advised by dunlop that it was a pro-rata arrangement as far as cost is concerned. I didn't have to pay anything (just as bloody well too!!). If you have a crack across your tread, I'd definitely be taking the car in for a look, as the crack will grow. It sounds to me that there remains inherent problems with these tyres (like inability to be balanced)...Al.
