But then again, he refused to believe my car was only 9 years old, and weighed 1500 kg (even though I showed him my rego papers to prove it).Apparently I am not allowed to have an opinion - because I am no-body. ?!?! Posted 12/04/03 07:40 AM Share Posted 12/04/03 07:40 AM I see everyone is a little upset!...I own a imported Subaru Legacy wagon. (Liberty B4) 2001 model.Which the wife drives everyday. Its not standard, it has an aftermarket computer,HKS airfilter and airflow meter, Jasma stainless exhaust system, Bilstein suspension, 18 inch wheels etc etc. When I come home from work, the wife will make up any excuse to drive my 2003 XR6T ute. As a matter of fact she is driving it now.But to answer some curiosity, the wagon is quicker than the ute. But it is modified to 260kw and weighs only1500kgs compared to the ute at 1730kgs.I used to own a WRX previously and I would never turn back to one. The Legacy is a completely different car and I love the best of having both worlds. Guest JESMAL Guests Posted 12/04/03 08:31 AM Share Posted 12/04/03 08:31 AM Yes, the REX is fast, and some may even say that it has more mod potential than the XR6T. But lets look at it this way, you park the REX side by side with any Ford Falcon, you can tell right away just from a quick glance that these two cars belong to two very different classes. Take for instance a SKLYINE GTR, side by side with an M3. I'll take the M3 anytime coz it has more character than the GTR. Similarly, I'll take an XR6T anytime over a REX, even if it's an AU... Wrx is fast and handles well, but its a shocking looking thing, Our turbo's are just as fast and are far more comfortable and smooth for the whole family and they look "awsome", Rex people should admit this. The wrx weighs 1300+kg for a 4 cylinder with bugger all comforts. that's a fat arse four.Has anyone ever opened and shut the doors on a rex? You can hear the poor build quality. I was shocked when I test drove one back in 1999. This rex had 1500km on it and rattles behind the dash and you could here the windows rattle when wound down. I opted for a SSS pulsar over it because of build quality and the $4000 less insurance. Will never buy a subaru. Guest BLK_TX3 Guests Posted 13/04/03 12:37 AM Share Posted 13/04/03 12:37 AM I have to agree with many of the comments here... a stock WRX is not even a match for my lightly modded TX3 Turbo. They are highly over rated cars and to be honest I think they have had their day. Give engine developers a few years and there will be XR6T's running in street trim with 300RWKW's... and doing it reliably unlike any WRX could achieve. Guest rpmjunky Guests Posted 13/04/03 09:50 AM Share Posted 13/04/03 09:50 AM I had previously owned an impreza rx and was very happy with that, it never missed a beat and I live in the adelaide hills with rough steep roads that little car spent more time on the redline than anything else, for that reason I almost bought a new wrx instead of the turbo because they are damn fast handle like there on rails and they will hold a hell of a lot better resale value than a turbo, but at the same time I bought a falcon, how come, just wanted more of a cruiser like the falc, nicer interior finnish more comfort and makes a nice noise. If they cotton on to how good these cars are the people waiting here for one may have to wait a little longer. And remember never argue with idiots, they will only bring you down to there level and beat you with experiance!!
