I was just reading the December "Motor" mag with the Typhoon on cover. Theres a picture of the oil pressure and boost gauges in the article, but the boost gauge has no numerical scale, just - and + and lines in the middle.

I was considering putting these gauges in my T but it seem pointless having a boost gauge that dosen't tell you boost pressure.

Ford probably think that the average Joe who buys one isn't going to understand anything more than + or - for boost/vacuum. Much like temp guages only have H and C ???

Also helps their service dept gurus out when a customer comes in complaining of overboost. "No sir, we couldn't find any evidence of overboost. The guage only went to + just like it's supposed to."

I sat in one the other day and yes they no numerical scale etc... How are you supposed to tell how much boost your running etc... I reckon they are crap and the other thing I didnt like was the way they sat. they looked like they were facing down a bit which is annoying.

I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to fit a decent aftermarket gauge into the stock binnacle. I suppose that kind of defeats the purpose of having a boost gauge standard, though. However, judging by your opinions of its 'cheap' appearance, I'm sure most will be upgrading!
