Personally, I think drugs are for losers. If you take drugs then there is something wrong with your perspective on life. Apart from alcohol (some beers etc, which really is one of the worst drugs itself when abused), I can't understand why people take them. But at the end of the day, that's my opinon. Drugs that are illegal give the police the ability to search you should they suspect you have them whilst on public streets. Fair call

Ok, the be all and end all on what drugs are more dangerous is what drugs kill the most people......

So any answers???? Well if im not mistaken it would be cigerets followed by alchohole and these two are both legal...

You mister halls of justice say or believe whatever you need to justify these sniffer dogs in clubs... But I for one think its absolute bullsh**t you cant bust these people just because they are feeding the rich dealers, what a crock... I have never heard of anyone breaking into a car or a house to get some money for a pill or a bag of pot.. Heroin is the evil that causes this and most junkies I see are not in dance clubs.

Australia is in a Herion drought. Yes, herion has returned to our streets, but in nothing like the proportions it was here in during 1998/99 when it was at its peak. Herion has not been the primary drug of users for nearly four years now. It is the amphetemines that you are saying are harmless that most drug dependant people are using. Next time your car or house is broken into, don't call the police, write it off as charity if you don't think drug users are a problem. Why do you think that they would be stealing from you? Its not to buy bread for their starving family, I'll tell you that much.

Its not the dog itsself that invades our privacy its the search for something that isnt used to harm anyone in the community other than the person that posseses it. And that I say mind your own bussiness police get to the root of the problem.. It seems really sensible cloging up our courts with trivial bullsh**t.

And that is the type of attitude that will never see the problem defeated. While people think that their or their mate's little habit is harmless, it isn't. As for police going for the people at the top, if there is no demand, then why supply it? Like I said, work both ways, from the top down and the bottom up.

I was once stoped in george street after a movie by a dog. I was searched in front of everyone and they found nothing at all. I admit I had a few drags of joint befor seeing the movie and so what... I get my privacy invaded by a cop and embaressed in public so this cop finds nothing... Even if I did have a joint should I be arrested for this...

So a lawful search was conducted on you after the dog smelt the residual aroma of marijuana. The police exercised there lawful powers. To me it is a real endorsement of how effective these dogs are. If you don't want to be searched for drugs, don't come into contact with them. Also, if the police could establish your name and address (ID), no, you would not be arrested for smoking marijuana, its a summary offence. If you were still possessing it, then it is different.

Some people seem to be taking it personally that I am strongly opposed to drugs. Always have been. Does not have a lot to do with being a police man, this has just increased my exposure to the effects and results of recreational & dependant drug use.

So you are saying who cares about speed cooks, dealers and all the Sudafed (& similar) runners that go through the chemists, all the bikie gangs. Forget about ALL of those criminal elements and just let people on a Friday/Saturday night go out speeding off their head.

wOULD YOU SAY THAT TO A BIKIE FACE TO FACE, I think not, nyway I bet you haven't raised more money for charities than you. So are you saying bikies are bad and the hundreds of thousands of dollars they raise for Sick Children is wrong?

I haven't used drugs for many years. but I can't see why others should be penalised for the occassional use.
Because its illegal and sustains an entire culture of other illegal activities.

NO because I didn't find the affects to be fun anymore, I don't care that someone said its bad, or you can't do that. I make my own mind up. And I would never run for parliment because you can't play the game against liers and win. I avoid liers cheats and selfish people, like you avoid drugs.

Well, well, What a topic we got going here..All Im gonna say is, although you dont agree with it ( which I dont also ) you just got to live with it, If your going to take drugs, do it in your home before you go out. That way you are responsible for what happens in your home... What I dont agree with is taking the drugs onto the street..cause whats the chances of your drug of choice falling out of your pocket when reaching for something else, falling out of your wallet when reaching for some money or falling out of your safe stash spot on you if you end up in a fight or sit down or fall over...all these things do happen and if that happens on the street there is a chance that a child will pick that up and do whatever with it....

Very true, I agree fully,

but if the police had their way they would be in your home too, with sniffer dogs, and then you would be in court with thousands more,

all helping pay for JUDGES in the Halls of Justice get rich every year in the sum of $100K plus a year. Now why should you be allowed to earn that sort of money , and someone else can't, like a dealer, when no-one but yourself gave the dealer the money, he didn't sale the sh*t door knocking. YOU CALLED HIM, so like many threads before in this forum, people keep saying, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS.

A HYPORTHETICAL:

Well all those in favour of this, I hope that when you go to town next, someone puts a pill in your pocket, then a sniffer dog comes along and catchs you, NO EXCUSES you had it in your POCKET, doesn't sem right but it could easily happen to anyone, and its your responsibility , you own the pocket, maybe you shouldn't have consumed some much if the legal drugs likeGROG, and you would have known someone put the pill in your pocket, but you wanted dogs now you suffer the consequences, because people now know how to get others in deep sh*t, so they use it to their advantage, frame you, or worst still you go home unaware of that pill in your pocket, you didn't get caught but you were drunk so you pull all the stuff out of ya pocket and the pill goes on the floor, next minute the baby, kids Pets are really sick or worse. ALL because the sniffer dogs are out there and someone knows how to try and get you busted. YOU LAUGH but hey its all possible in this oppressive world.

Just becuase it is lawful doesn't make it right. It is a joke..

And if you ask me it should be a illegal search, just because you arn't going threw my pockets doesn't mean im not being searched. the sniffer dog is a searching tool. so call it what you want im still being searched for no reason..
