I have no doubt that Ford will move to all alloy engines by 2008 or so - keep in mind though that this will be driven purely from a marketing perspective as the majority of people out there think that alloy is "new and hi-tech". NOT because it is necessarily better.

Another thing to see is whether the "alleged 2008 alloy block" is still an undersquare bore configuration or not.

Ross

How much of a weight reduction would there be in going from cast iron to alloy block?I also wonder if Ford would use steel bore liners in their alloy blocks unlike the Gen 3.

Be in seriously Wheels the one mag I didn't thing would give it any cred did,

They basically said the 175 is 190 with less and the noise people have been talking about to them they think it's just induction noise nothing much.

Only thing was they and most don't think the exhaust note is hot hot but fine nothing Headers and exhaust can't fix :)

P.S in reply to the XR6T beat a Clubsport, Number one you wouldn't know if it was standard or not, My brother sticks by his words still that his 1995 GHIA 6 is 210KW straight from the factory.

And 5 months ago in my mum VB Late model camira 3.3lt red engine auto. I had a drag with a 87 ford ghia. Now do you think the first Late model camira could beat this car ??

I guess one thing that the VZ won't have that the BA has is a clunky diff. (AND) Of cause Expensive Daewoo is bringing out a turbo 6.

The 190kw Expensive Daewoo motor is just the begining of the latest attack on Ford and it will kick fords butt with power to weight.

So far the only one I've seen or read be impressed by alloytec is the guy in the ad on the dyno, oh and his son in the other ad.

You are exactly right Mercturbo, I am sensing a strong presence from the Dark Side on this thread, poor disillusioned buggers. Hows your beasty going mate?

Yeh Rick the dark side infiltrate everywhere, they pose as Ford lovers then attack us and show their true colours, ah well I'd be spewin too if the latest updated all conquering crummie is getting average reviews, and good 'ol XR6 N/A is preferred over SV6. GT just gets better, console lid sh*ts me but that's it, awesome. Still havent cracked double ton believe it or not, solid as rock at 190 though, not long now though, need a real good stretch of road for that kind of thing, private road that is
