Exactly, Mr X! I still have the wheels at the moment, just waiting for the insurance company to give the go-ahead and then the parts to arrive. Then it's public transport and friends for me. Hope it's not the 2 weeks the guy mentioned!

Interesting explanation on your site lightening. What was she thinking? "oh, I moved right and ran into something. But that's OK, maybe if I keep going it'll move too, and everything will be fine"

When I pulled over to where you see my car and got out and said "What the *bleep* do you think you were doing" at rather a loud volume, all she said was "But I indicated". Said it several times. I suspect she had no damned idea I was there. But, as you say, still can't fathom why the hell she didn't go back from hence she came when a) she heard the rather loud horn b) when she heard the brakes lock c) when we hit 'corners' d) when she bounced off the front door or e) when she bounced off the rear door

I rang the insurance company later to advise that I had photo's. They said "Don't bother, she failed to give way to the right. Open and shut and the damage to your car will bear that out. We'll call you if we need them." Cool.

Lightning....

Had a near identical accident to you lightning and the lady driving said the same thing Didn't you see my indicator? (repeatedly) to which all I could reply was, "yes I did Pity you cant say you saw my CAR"

MORONS

Truck ran me off road...

Cro, I don't normally look at the Chit-Chat forum (time), but I have just read your thread about the demise of Gadan.

What can I say? :spoton: ... Anyway, glad that you're okay (relatively) and appreciate your comments even more.

I wish I was more composed to say something like that. Anyway, it makes me feel better (in a weird way) that I'm not alone. Thanks all.

This “phenomenon” is really quite frightening when you think about it. I have lost count of the number of times that I have been in the same situation, both on suburban roads and highways/freeways. All I can say is thank f*ck for the ABS and touch wood I have been fortunate enough to come out unscathed.

It makes you wonder though how the culprits involved in these incidents managed to get a license. Even though I think the mirrors in the BA’s a pretty good and negate any blind spots I still always turn my head to check if there is anything in the lane where I actually want to be. Obviously not everyone got the same driver training as me – father in the passenger seat clipping me around the ear every time I didn’t look or did something incorrect! I can still hear his voice ringing in my head.

It’s good to hear that you are all OK though, but the inconvenience of repairs (or waiting for another car in Cro’s case) still would still leave quite a bitter taste in your mouth.

Cain,

What can I say ... clearly you were paying attention at the "fire drills". You have it all under control and I'm happy for you to lead the intervention.

Just remember that in these circumstances, Lighting may still be in shock and susceptable to silly suggestions, e.g., changing colour, etc. :o

Stay strong and coach him though the procedure. He may resist at first but he will eventually comply with the treatment and in no time at all will a happy camper. Assure him that he will be able to sit again in a couple of hours. :spoton:

... oh, and don't forget the pics for the next meeting.
