Guest Modi Guests Posted 01/07/04 02:57 AM Share Posted 01/07/04 02:57 AM Plenty of food for thought for there guys. I'm liking the quick and cheap option of pulling the centre muffler. Heard that the chip can "trip out" a bit and make some automatic adjustments that cause the engine to produce less power.Don't know if I'd wanna risk it. Guest Guests Posted 01/07/04 04:17 AM Share Posted 01/07/04 04:17 AM Mrs z has a Herrod cat-back mild steel system on her "sports pak" XT. It's louder than I expected....MUCH louder than my standard T. At idle it's deep and rumbly and sounds a bit like a V8, which is what she really wants. Sounds better at idle and low speed than at high revs/cruise etc, but pretty good overall. She LOVES it! As the NA and the XT are identical as far as the engine goes, this could be a good option at about $550 to $600.If you want, I'll try to post a video with stereo sound, but I'll have to rely on someone to tell me how to do that and also catch her on one of the rare occasions that she's not out in her venom beastie, terrorising the neighbourhood. Hey Zeke old son,put the camera on the charger NOW please, would hate to see a repeat performance of last effort trying to do a sound recording  vik Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/11598-the-ultimate-exhaust-note-for-the-t/page/2/#findComment-139392 Share on other sites

Jamie XR6 Member 190 Member For: 22y 2m 4d Location: Sydney Posted 01/07/04 10:27 AM Share Posted 01/07/04 10:27 AM I bought a Herrod Stainless System. It had been on a GTP for 6 months so it was nicely run in. Can't feel any performance gain and I didn't really expect to but she sounds sweet when you put your foot down.Cruising at 110, you wouldn't know the difference as its nice and quiet.
