Squealing Brakes

I have a problem with squealing brakes. They are standards brakes and they squeal all of the time no matter what type of braking I do. I have taken it back to the dealer and he said that they skimmed the rotors and put anti squeal spray (???)

on them.

Now I have looked right through the forums and what you have had to say. But the question I would like to ask is this. When I went back to the service manager and said they are still squealing he said " Ok, what would you like to do?"

I felt like saying " Fix the F*****S " .

So suggestions please, what should I do or ask him to do? Your experience will be greatly appreciated.

do you drive on dirt roads constantly? dust on the discs will cause them to squeal, but if your rotors dont get dusty at all, and it squeals all the time, ive no idea what it could be, others on here may enlighten you

Thanks for that. No I dont go near any dirt roads and I have also tried washing out the excess dust but still no joy.

Anyone else. I would really like to go to the service manager and say:

"I want you to do this....................." So if anyone can help with filling in the blank it would be greatly appreciated.

Change the pads over to QFMs.

How long before they start to squeal?

I think it was after 10000km

what year and month is the car?

have you still got the origonal disks on the car?

Yes they are still the original and I have done 23000km and that has not been heavy driving.

I rang a brake mob up here in Cairns who QFM (thanks VIK) recommended and they told me $175 for new pads, rotor skim, flush brake fluid and labour. Does this sound right?

By the way, the brake bloke up here reckons he has fixed 6 BA's which had brake shudder by changing the front pads to QFM. Sounds like a cheap fix.

put anti squeal spray (???) on them.

WURTH make a anti squeak spray that you apply to the back of the pad, all the techs use it where I work, they reckon its top stuff. It is a "red" compound....

Sounds like a fair price to me,because they are giving the discs a skim that means they know what they are doing,dodgey bros would just shove in the new pads on a new car,go for it mate.Maby ask about next grade up brake fluid if you intend to play with your T
