Expensive Daewoo are the masters of marketing and image. No wonder they get away with such poor quality.
30/04/03 12:07 PM30/04/03 12:07 PM #23 Well done Richdave,as for the rest of you with your pissweak comments, if you were standing in front of me when that sh*t was dribbled down your chin, I'd knock you on your arses. The Fairlanes have always been a popular car, their sales decline of late was mostly due to second rate, now defunct powerplants. The same ones making us all jump from AUXR's to BAXR's. A fantastic car whiich enables those of us taller than a grass hoppers arse to ride comfortably in the rear or drive in our normal position with rear seat passengers. In my XR6T, I'm constantly forced to move my seat forward when clients are behind me, that extra 6 inches for the back makes one hell of a difference. These late model examples will make some real cool cruisers when they're a couple of years old, have big wheels & shortened springs. B) B) Something that has gone unsaid on this site when comparing Ford/Expensive Daewoo to other makes, may be wasted on the younger readers, goes way back when. These two companies declared, Henry I believe instagating it "we're building cars for the people." The major three in the U.S. have the money & knowledge to outbuild, race & price anything Euro/Germ can muster. Always have always will, any doubters should read up on Henry's attempt to take over Ferrari, when the Iti's blocked him he, within a couple of years blew them away at their beloved Lemans race. However their was no point continuing building these "exotica" as they weren't within the average man's budget. So please don't compare Fairlane/Statemen to big Merc's/Bmw, cause if I gave you a Fairlane G220 & $100,000.00 you wouldn't hand it back & ask for an S class or 7 series, unless you're a primadonna or worse.Sorry for my outburst, Scotty
30/04/03 01:22 PM30/04/03 01:22 PM #24 Ohhh Looks nice and Mafia-y...I like it Godfada...I also like the Idea of a nice big lazy cruiser like the LTDs...our old FC LTD was a godsend when it came to 16 hour trips from Brissy to Quilpie...They serve a purpose, otherwise why would so many people buy stretched Falcs and dunnydores? For so long? The falcon has been popular for around three decades now...Most cars are lucky to see three years...Just my 2c (less for cash ;-) )
01/08/03 07:04 AM01/08/03 07:04 AM #25 Had a drive today of the G220, absolutely devine. Pitty that it's heavier & less powerful than my T or we'd be talking turkey, drives like a bought one, beautiful exhaust note when leaned upon. Took me a while to find the traction control button on it, but once I did he leapt off the line, just doesn't continue to pull like the 240T does. Maybe if I had of ditched my buddy & the agent she'd have gone fastererer.Scottyp.s. wonder what I'd get as a trade???????????
01/08/03 10:04 AM01/08/03 10:04 AM #26 p.s. wonder what I'd get as a trade??????????? Oh, no you dont :blank: It would be an insult, trust me!!
