They are legal.

They are the same design as OEM just better

They fit in the standard light socket

They are sold in shops

They have ADR stamped on the packet

They are legal.

Oh.........I don't want them then........ :wootjump:

Zap,

Now for serious questions!

What lights did you replace - as it looks like they have all of the globes including the parking lights? If not is there a yellow tinge remaining in the light from the OEM parking lights?

And as per previous post, where did you buy the little beauties, I was thinking TJM or similar.

Thanks,

Trent.

I have also changed to the same bulbs and the diifference is very noticable,

the low beams are now a match for the highs when switched on!

there is no yellowish tinge from the parkers in the light but you can still see them in the projector of course just not from the front or in the colour of the light!

I looked at my lights head on in the driveway couldn't see siht just a white blur and had to really give the eyes a few good blinks in the dark before I could see properly again??? ouch! Im glad im driving and not coming the other way.

and to all the stirrers legal :spoton:

and available from any auto parts store I will post the model number tomorrow

Anyone know what else I can change to 50+

P.S. you dont need to remove the airbox or battery

I got them from Auto One in Chatswood Sydney. I am sure any auto store would have them. I have only replaced the lowbeam globes, I did not touch the parkers or highbeam. The globe type is called a H4

I do not think you will get a good idea on how bright these lights are from a picture. The mots noticable difference are the cats eye reflectors, reflect heaps farther down the road. The other main difference was how white the lights are. You have probably seen the Lexus's driving around with their very white headlights, but they are not projector xenons, well the light it that white. Oneday it will rain in Sydney so I can see what it is like on a wet road at night, butin my old car it was a huge difference in the wet.

It is worth the investment.

I needed to remove the airbox because the plug felt like it was araildited to the globe. I needed a pair of multigrips and a screwdriver to remove the plug from the globe. I did not even try the drivers side, I just removed the battery (5mins) and it was easy.

So you only replaced the low beamers.

Can you get ones for the high beam & spotties too?

Also as most normal bulbs have high and low in one bulb, so do these have that too as I thought with the XR's it is all separate. So are these bulb specific for the XR twin lights or are they the same as all the others?

A mate of mine put some in his new Jeep and said the difference was amazing!

The replacements do low and highbeam in the one globe hence the 55w/60w designation. You can also buy the same type of globe for the highbeam (spotlight), I think they are H2 globe, but I may be wong. I found the highbeams fine, but you can see the headlight white lights whent he highbeams are on as the highbeam spotlight is yellow as opposed to the ultra white headlights....does this make sence :spoton:

Hmm....Now I know what I'll be doing with $30 and an hour or so this weekend. Better double that - bet Mrs z will want them too - might do her car first for "experimental purposes)

Does anyone have a copy of the correct procedure for aligning headlights - I didn't see it in the owner's manual and I'd like to make sure the're spot on, especially with brighter globes.
