N/A 6 BA XT 2003 sedan, my thinking is if it is cheap enough even if it only provides a few kw for a N/A a few is better than none
-
Injectors from a n/a falcon are the same as on the Turbo. They can be drilled out, but this is not something you can do yourself, as extreme precision is required. Nizpro supplies drilled injectors on an exchange basis. ← Any idea on cost for drilling compared to exchange, daily driver so if I can have a set I can get drilled out and swap over with minimal time out of service the better
-
Quick question are these the same as the BA XT non turbo or they bigger, I can remember vaguely they may be the same also can the be drilled out a bit bigga and if anyone jknows what is the flow rates? Sorry for the question but I may be able to pick a set of turbo ones up very cheap and if there bigga good but if they arent and I can drill them out abit and they provide more power great.

Better just clarify this is before the finally weld up job and clean and paint, is getting welded at the moment.
-
This is what I have done to mine, I have redone it as the 180 degree turn wasnt tight enough for my liking probably spent 10 to 15 hours on it to line it up so it goes straight into the airbox, it is fairly good gains for cheap but mind you mines only a N/A. Good work 51kba

Hey Fat-51x, Yeh I have been told about going to big but that has mainly come from exhaust shop, trying to get me to buy their system, but from a lot of research and talking and watching people who have done similiar I shouldnt lose any power but gain cant tell till its on. your car looks good thanks for the back pic gives a good view were I have to do the bar cut for the new exhaust. Cheers Jason
-
Hey bud, yeh all coming together took your advice get it all together and take my time without rushing it,, I knew yours would go, and go hard, geez she looks better in the daylight going by the pics, keep an eye out will be updating as I go. cheers jason

Did a search for above and couldnt find him can you direct me to his user name so I can pm him and see what he has done

Last part of exhaust cat and pipe to first flange done. Just gotta get acouple more bits and all goes on, bloody itching to do it now
-
Mostly the gear is second hand but reconditioned or cleaned up, a couple of new bits, Best advice I received when I first got the Pacies off a bloke who transformed is xr6 ute to a xr6t ute was to take my time dont rush ask heaps of questions no matter how silly they sound and research. The more I can get and put on all together the better it feels, also work with what I have to my means and not over budget, I am one that works with what I have money was tight when the Falcon was purchased so the idea of a XR6T was just an idea would have been nice though but I have a Falcon XT so I will work on the best mods for lowest costs to get the best gains. Plus its not the most common modded car as most go with a turbo of course they will go faster but in all the falcon should should be able to pull respectable times and pull away fairly rapidly from most holdens 6 and 8 which will be the most satisfying thing for a daily driver with baby seats and all.

Okay people, All is sweet with the exhaust, by the way XR-GHIA tips are nice, I have got all the exhaust welded up and it is at the ready stage and I hope going by all the measuring and cutting and smoothing out it all fits in neatly and provides good power and sound, but alas I have also got other bits and pieces to go on and still need to get some further so I will state what I have and if anyone has any further mods to add please mention as I want to do as much at once so hopefully the power jump is huge. So far Pacies,3in hi flo cat XR8 twin 2.25 inch exhaust Shiftkit Rehoned and shaped 3 inch air induction pipe Pod air filter in box to reduce heat soak Tickford air scoop Full service Computer cover ( at least a kw there hey ,ha ha) Air box decal ( another kw or maybe two, even bigga ha ha) Cost on these so far $370.00 for all of the above What I still want to get Power thermostat for a BA N/A 2-3kw is good Underdrives quoted for 25% extra gain I would like a flash tune or even unichip but for the prices seen never gonna happen unless I win lotto. so is there anything else that would probably be classified as a cheap mod I could do to gain a kw or 2 as added up it all counts
-
Got the cat the other day and am almost finished just have to have the centre section welded a bit and she is ready to go on but got a couple of other things to get before hand other mod bits. Putting this on here so thers who are tinking of this type of mod can see the process and requirements and also hopefully some nice gains.

$1k damn I thought I spent too much at $300.00 for the whole exhaust, fitting it myself so that will keep costs down too. I thoguht that it would be big enough as I am going from 2.5 in pacies outlet to a 3 in cat to all up together 4.5 inch worth of piping and mufflers out I have seen the 3 in cat put on another ba n/a and it helps increase the flow even though the pacies only have a 2.5 outlet.

When I get it all done I'll get pics and hope sound recording, I like a tip on my car the standard exhaust has a dump and I coundnt see it when we first got, first thing cut the dump and put a tip on. Hopefully all is good when I put it on from what I have seen it should be good for a few kw gains, heres hoping.

Yeh gonna do the cut and shut on the rear bar, I am one to keep the car as an XT not mock up XR, not saying that's a bad thing just not something I want to do, I have made up a surround that will go around the cut to tidy it up so it doesnt look like a hole going no where. I like the burnouts, went to willowbank for the first time in around 10 years so at the piont this shot was taken I was still learning the best way of getting the Falcon lit, got bigga as the night went on, no photos to prove that but, Damn it.

I just realised I havent added a pic of my car anywhere so I thought I would whack one up so people looking at this thread have a reference to the type of car I have and the mods that are slowly happening 2003 BA XT N/A 6, best over the 1/4 16.2 with full tank of petrol and tool box and spare wheel and all reaction times not worth a mention. only mod air intake still work in progress home made, exhaust to come as you see.

This is what I have so far cat is on its way, magna flow hi flo 3 inch hopefully it all works well

Scotty we need as much as anyone with a turbo, you know once the bug hits do one thing to get it going faster it eventually becomes to slow again so time for a new mod, on the N/A I have heard gains of between 10 to 45 kw depending on what is done, really on either side t's or N/A's not much has to be done to get them hauling although yes the t's do have the edge ← No probs, mate, I was not saying that a better Cat would not make a difference. However I am guilty of thinking that you would not need a cat to flow as much as some of the guys are putting on the T's. There is a thread, where Cats have been tested for flow, by one of the more knowledible gents on here. It is a great thread and should answer most of your queries. Just need to find it or have someone post a link. Scotty ← that's cool, thanks for the info on the thread, I have quite a bit done on cats and is getting a bit confusing, but I think with my ppower range the magnaflow will do the trick to the piont I get up higherin the power

IMO they are good, not the greatest but good. If you can get one cheap do it, they are a marked improvment over stock ← Thanks for that any and all adcice appreciated,

So are you saying they are of good quality and way overpriced or are you saying they are a bodgy cat way over priced?
-
Beauty thanks what set up have you got and car

Advice needed on a magnaflow 3 inch hi flo ceramic cat going onto a N/A BA falcon 6, I have the exhaust set up just need a cat, I have seenon here everyone basically swears buy a metal cat but funds hamper that for now and I have access to the above at a very reasonable cost, has anyone had experience with these if so are they any good. Thanks

Does it have a nice note too it, and do you reckon I would power wise gain.

I have a N/A falcon BA XT 6 which is a single pipe all the way 2.25inch, I have investigated this for around four months now and this will work, but my dilemma is below. Picked up a full V8 system yetserday from cat back now I am in a confused state were do I keep going with the exhaust I am building or just whack the twin 2.25inch v8 system in , the build system is twin 2.5 in with pacies and twin mufflrs out either side at the back. Can anyone explain the benefits from either would my build exhaust be better or would the v8 be better I am after a good sound but want the system to work power wise. The benefit of the v8 exhaust is it will mostly bolt straight in but my build exhaust has a lot of welding and work in it. Will take any and all comments. dont you hate it when you have something drop in your lap that is a good alternative when you have already starting something else. Last question with the v8 twin are the standard mufflers used or is sports mufflers added?
