What's the consensus in 2019? Anyone have any experience w/ CMS now the workshop is leased out & Joe only does the tuning?

Possibly: Check if the pretensioners have been fired, the RCM (under dash - must be correct type (A,B,C), crash sensor near the bonnet catch may also need to be changed.
