Dal. after reading your post, the only thing I have done diferent to you is the way the cars have been run in. I took off from the dealer with both wheels spinning for around 20m and have driven it hard for the first 1000k's (only thing I dont do is over rev, 5000 max but it gets to 4500 on most gear changes under 3/4 throttle) Its taken 3 FULL tanks of fuel to do the first 1000 k's P.S. I havent changed the oil

this is what I've done so far after I noticed the guages were not working I: 1, removed power to the car kit (just incase the guages where getting power from the phone lume ) 2, completely removed the car kit and wiring 3, removed the fuse panel and checked conections 4, buzzed out EVERY fuse in the car 5, pulled the guage pod out and checked the conections at the gauges 6, post on the forum to find the location of where the guages conect to the main lume 7, ask a mate who works at VDO to give me a hand (told me to take it to his work tomorrow if I cant figure it out ) 8, located the box that the guages plug into (had 1 lead plugged into it from the guages, cant see where it goes from there???? its on the side of the icc, but my head is too big to fit up there and get a good look her to see if there is 2 sockets and only one plugged in???) 9, the box is up so high there is no way I could have knocked out a plug??? is there??? if I did,,,,,WHERE THE IS IT!! 10, AAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!! HELP PLEASE,,,, what am I overlooking???

hey Dal, my gearbox did actually run it self it after 1000k's its not totaly silent but close enough for me. still has a slight noise when in 3rd and pulling away from 1000rpm to 1500rpm. give it time, your box will be fine

does anyone have access to a later edition of the manual that could help me out??

I have a FOMOCO BA manual but it was printed in 2003 so no phoon specific information do you have a more recent one?

Hi everyone, Last night I installed a car kit into my phoon. Today when I went for a drive I noticed that the oil pressure and boost guage were not working Does any one know what plug I may have knocked out under the dash, or anything else that may cause this problem?? I cant remember anything coming loose while I was working on it but it is a tight space to be playing in Any help would be great...

99% of people wouldn't bother tracking down a plug for the icc because its easier to just use 2.8mm lugs to conect the wires. I wouldn't bother wasting time getting the ps2 to output NTSC because the xbox is overall a better system to use (because of the hdd and xbox media centre). if you printed out the DIY instructions on how to do the job and took them to your auto elec, im sure he could do it for you. Its not rocket science

I was really worried that I was making a huge mistake by buying a BA F6 only weeks before the BF was released Now ive read this post I'm over the moon that I didn't wait for it. That BF F6 front bar is not too my taste at all and the rims on the BA are far better IMHO.

quick answers: 1 = yes (same diff, same whine 2 = yes (so far) 3 = yes my edited t didnt feel as quick 4 = better than ford but still $1275 ish 5 = buy a new one 6 = yes (same box better clutch) 7 = yes (better than the T) 8 = only the FPV specific ones is this enough detail ????

Just letting every one know that I picked up my new Shockwave Typhoon last night I would have posted sooner but I couldnt get my bum out of it! Thanks for all the advice in running her in,, I picked her up with 33k's on the clock, now just 24 hours later there is over 350 Only a dyno will tell if I did a good job at the runin... The first thing I noticed is the clutch is ALOT lighter to press in than the XR6T 6 speed..... This is not what I was expecting, however I really dont mind (less leg aches in traffic). The only other strange thing was the smell in the car, its not the normal "new car" smell,,,, anyone know if they use a diferent glue on the FPV's to the XR's???? anyway because I couldnt find any picks of a Shockwave Phoon I'll post the ones my wife took of her when I was pulling into my driveway for the first time I'll post more once the weather fines up.....

a mate of mine who works a VDO (BA cluster makers) told me that you can get between 50 and 80ks past the 0 DTE reading on the dash before your car will actually run out of fuel. Reason is tolerences between cars and to stop people pushing the DTE limit and risking running out of fuel. I tested this of and went 60k's after the DTE read 0ks and it took 65.5l to fill
