  1. I've found my manual T shifts pretty good from 2nd to 3rd, never stuffed one up, its more the downshifts and clunkiness that gets to me. Interested in how the rip shifters work though sounds like a good product for drags
  2. Yeah I'm not sure what my dealer would say about an intercoler, have to ask him I guess. Was thinking that they may not even notice aftermarket injectors if they look similar to the factory ones? But they very easily could as well. How do the cars run in stock tune when the injectors have been changed I wonder?
  3. I've found in real world situations autos will generally be quicker. After a few friendly red light drags against my mate in a auto skyline which has about 100 fwkw less than mine I could not beat him unless I launched 'perfectly' mine being a Mk2 6 speed. Also these babies seem pretty hard launch perfectly without riding the clutch too much.Though when I did get a good launch I left him by about 2 carlengths to 100km/h. And... when we were both siting next to eachother doing bout 80km/h, me in third, I left him by about three carlengths, I guess that's the extra 100 fwkw showing up. Kinda spewin I missed out on the 6spd auto cause I woulda got that, but the manuals are fun and so easy to light up the rear treads at any time. Anyways that's my 2 bobs worth.
  4. Well I have had my computer checked and reflashed by ford for a fault and they never found out that I had the edit. It seems to be an ongoing debate if ford can actually detect if a cpu has been edited... the reason I bought the bloody thing is because I thought it could not be detected...
  5. Thanks for your input guys. I agree that a IC + injectors would be better value for money. Don't think ford would cover me if they saw a huge intercooler and aftermarket injectors, though you can only ask I guess. I just can't afford any hike in insurance plus I need my warranty if the car blows up. The APS exhaust is a nice piece of gear however, and pretty good value if consider the quality of it. Pretty sure I read in the APS thread that they will be selling it seperately now. Perhaps I would be better of with just a custom tune for now... as soon as there is someone in darwin who can do it.... Anyway back to the drawing board.
  6. ok I have been back to the dealer who I bought the flash tuner of and he said I need to send it back to CAPA to get reflashed. Cool with me, but will it cost me anything and can I get the latest software loaded? Is the dealer just being lazy, cause I thought he should have send it back for me. Regards Zane

  8. thanks for the help guys. I found the Au brembo types at wheel king so they will accomadate massive brakes as well. The reason I asked trough lolly is cause roh don't make them anymore, the only ones you can get now are the au tickford types. I had a set on my old XH ute and they looked fat, just takes all day to clean them..... But IMHO one of the best and classiest wheels out there, to much ricer inspired out there now, thaks again for the wheelking site. Zane.
  9. hey Just wondering if the full APS exhaust along with a 2nd CAI and a tuned edit would be effective mods or would the exhaust be a waste of time / money. Reason being I don't want to do any major mods a the moment but would like a bit deeper exhaust note when I do get it custom tuned. Thought there might be a few others out with similar mods or lookin to do aomething similar. Also the APS exhaust will be good for any further mods down the track. Will I need to upgrade valve springs for a tuned 10psi map? Any thoughts and ideas appreciated
  10. I really want some ROH azzuro wheels in 18x8 for a BA ute. They are the same mags that came out on the AU TE50s but they have been discontinued, If anyone has a set in good nick or they know anyone who wants to get rid of them let me know. Cheers Zane
  11. Was thinking of changing to a fully synthetic oil at 10000 kms (Mobil 1 5w50) is this oil alright in the T's also should I wait till 15000 kms before changing to synthetic?. Does anyone know what sort of synthetic the dealers use? Cheers Zane
  12. So have any of you guys looked at getting a custom tune done up here? I've come to the conclusion that I want the tune with a 2nd CAI as my only mod, cause I can't afford a jump in insurance just yet, only 23. Plus prices for mods are bound to drop within the next year or so. see yas Zane
  13. Hey xr6T owners, I've been on the site for a while but only just found the NT forum. Good to see that there are a few of us out there. Getting straight to the point I'm keen as to get a custom tune for my xr6T, do any of you know if there is someone up here who can do it, I've talked to a few people and they have never done one before. Otherwise I would like to start organising for us to get someone up here who can do it. Out of interst does anyone else have the edit? I am running the generic 8psi tune at the moment cause the 10 psi one doesn't work properly, think it runs lean at high rpm. So any of you that want a custom tune lets put our heads together and see if we can work something out. Mines the black Mkii ute with hardtop, give us a wave if you see me around. Cheers Zane
  14. I use BP Ultimate cause I'm pretty sure that it is the only 98 ron fuel you can get in Darwin. Does anyone know of any avings you can get with BP fuels cause it sucks paying $1.57/L, the price never drops either. Might have to check out the independants for one of the ethanol blends.
  15. Hey all, Have a slight problem with my flasher. When I load the tunes my car will not go into cruise control in fifth gear. When I have it stock there is no problem. I have taken it back to ford and they said there is nothing wrong with it. Wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and if I could get my tuner replaced if that was the case. Cheers
  16. Hey all, I have just purchased a gauge pod holder fro my T, it is a ss inductions job. Wondering if anyone has installed one of these and how much of my dash do I need to rip of to install it. Its the holder similar to that in the F6's. Cheers
