Xr6na Mods - Tune
Hi all, Got a mate that has an NA XR6 (BA of course) he's looking at getting a edit for the vehicle. He currently has an SS induction with K&N Filter and a full 2 1/2 inch exhaust system with extractors fitted to the car. What I'd like to know has there been some good results on the NAs with the edit and who's the best tuner to see in SA. He basically wants a bit more response out of it and I'm, pretty sure this can be done with the edit by changing the settings for drive bywire throttle. Any info would be appreciated. Cheers

Gt Valve Springs
Don't think you can use the GT springs unless you get out the grinder <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Strange.....Ford were quite happy to fit them to my car, and honour the parts and labour under warranty if the springs failed. I think the "can't use GT/GT-P springs in the XR6 engine" is a myth, perpetrated by people trying to move other companies' products. I haven't had one Ford tech tell me they won't work. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seem to remember someone fitting them a few years ago and the seats needed to be ground out for them to fit...probably wrong again <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Also remeber reading something about the springs binding, could be just a myth though.

Somethings Fishy Here
Appreciate the thought, worked through the options and decided to build a bullet proof engine as it's no longer covered under warranty, the motor is currently in the last stages of being rebuilt and expect it back soon. Just hanging out to get the car back and start enjoying it again. cheers

Somethings Fishy Here
Them as in, have spoken to the service manager and asked him to get me a report. asked multiple times and he said sent multiple emails to the engineer contractor. This was over a month and a bit Finally had enough then rang the 13FORD number asked them to get me a report. Was told they would get back to me, finally no call in a week so rang up 13FORD again. They told me that the service manager had told me I wouldn't get a report, which of course he didn't. The representive continues to tell me because I didn't pay for the analysis that ford own the report and would I not be able to see it in case it goes to court. What are they hiding?

Somethings Fishy Here
I understand this and yes I a have copped it. All the money has come out of my pocket. The biggest prob is that what they have said and what has been found are very different things and for them to have giving me this diagnosis made me go down an expensive route of rebuilding the engine. All I'm saying is what if someone misses out on a warranty claim because these so called engineers can't be f.....d diagnosing the fault properly. If they got it right the first time I may have had my car back months ago instead of still waiting for it. Ford need to have a good long look at how they treat there customers and what people they use to deal with them.

PWR intercooler, SS cold air induction and bmc air filter. SS cold air and filter were already fitted when vehicle was purchased with 38k on the clock and it all went pair shaped at 42k.

Somethings Fishy Here
Okay had to take my car to ford for a ticking sound in the engine. Anyways they pull the engine out and send it to melbourne for analysis. Engine arrives back, told warranty is void due to APS exhaust fitted which some how bent a rod. Sent my engine away for a rebuild, engine builder finds no bent rods but a bent block. So I ask Ford for an engineers report as I don't believe they investigated the problem well enough if at all. Anyway after 6 weeks+ waiting for a report a rep calls me and tells me I have no right to the report as ford own it and I will not be seeing one. This does not sound right and it's like there hiding something. Anyone got suggestions for a next step. cheers

Engine Gave Out At Under 50k
who knows what bullsh*t ford have told him, they probably don't even know what the engineers that pull the engine down are trying to tell them. Useless pricks that contract the ford warranty claims pulled the sump off my engine told Ford it had bent rods. Engine got pulled down and no sign of bent rod. Useless I say

I Saw The Ultimate Car
there is a fair bit of potential in these 3 valves. Possibly as much if not more as the 4 valve. I heard that 4 valves was over kill on the boss due to the stroke length, but eh this is only what I have read and by no means a fact

T56 Gear Ratios
so an XR8 box would be better for a transplant into a mk1 than a XR6T box as I plane on retaining the original diff ratios. thanks turb6man.

T56 Gear Ratios
Does anybody know if the gearbox ratios are different between the xr6t and xr8 t56? If so what are they? Cheers

T5 Replaced With T56
Did a search and found this http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15848 but that still not sure I can use the existing bell housing or not. also as an added question what are the gear ratios in the xr8 box compared to the xr6t box. cheers

T5 Replaced With T56
I know there has been a few subjects on this but just want clarification. I may be able to get my hands on a t56 out of an xr8 is this the same box as in the T. Also what will be needed to fit it. eg. will the bell housing on the T5 be the same for the T56 or do I need a new one? Can I use the existing clutch and flywheel for the time being? And what else will I need as I will only have the box and shifter. Cheers Hilly

Looking At Some Gauges
Just bought the same myself. I think you'll find that the boost/vac gauge itself isn't electric as it still has a vacuum line going to the gauge. The 400 dollar gauge is most likely electronic as it will have a sender on the vacuum line in the engine bay, and wires that go from that to the gauge in the cabin. If your boost gauge hasen't got a vacuum line going to it then let me know as I may have been ripped off.
