Hi all, I have a BF F6 that has done 58000kms. In this time my local FPV dealer has replaced the head gasket due to an oil leak, replaced spark plugs due to 2 loosing the electrode at 15000k's and at 40 000 ks I replaced the turbo as the bearings had flogged due to the plugs going through the exhaust rotor of the turbo. FPV voided my warranty as I have fitted a SS induction and K & N filter. The car started blowing blue smoke before I replaced the turbo and is still doing this. It is just when I initially start it up when cold of a morning and after the first initial acceleration it stops for the rest of the day. To me it sounds like valve seals or maybe a leaking seal in the turbo allowing oil to sit in the manifold overnight. Could anyone help with this. Cheers in advance Scott

Hi Trough Lolly, I got mine from Chris Rapley of Rapid Auto's in Tamworth NSW. He has the software to program the edits from CAPA and he is the sole dealer in this area. He says that he hasn't had this problem before as he also owns a XR6T himself.... Mine works great on the 8psi with no fluctuations at all

Thanks, I will reset the plugs in the morning and let you know how it goes. I also want to take it to Willowbank in the nesr future to get some et's..... Does anyone have a timetable for the next 12 weeks or so????

They havent fixed it yet...... What is the best plug gap to set and should I use colder plugs, copper plugs etc????? Overall I am happy but the surging is a bit annoying...... I have also fitted a Big Mouth Cold air induction from SS Inductions.... I am looking at an exhaust in the near future as well.... Can anyone tell me the best place in Brisbane to get a custom tune.....

I have done it!!!!! Got my edit the other day and I love it I have a Question though???? With the 10psi tune, it comes on then off then on then off..... on the 8psi tune it runs beautiful..... Is there something that I can do to fix this on 10psi or am I destined to this annoyance?????/ Please Help

Yeah, I agree. I have heard about Ford taking away performance from our t's and I dont trust them here....... I will see how it goes over the next week and make a decision from there. Also, I am getting my edit on MONDAY.......CANT WAIT

This bloke is an idiot. I think I might drive the 3 hours to Newcastle and see a mate at Klosters and get him to do it..... I might also get him to do the police upgrade for it too.....

I have noticed since they did a 30,000k service the other day that I am getting power surges, mainly in 2nd gear (its an auto) and also occasionally it will have a little flutter or miss at low speed (10km's p/h) but comes good. Other than that, it has been fantastic!!!!!! I will be ordering the edit tomorrow from CAPA and I really look forward to that!!!!!

I use Vortex 98 as this is my local servo. I find that I get good performance and around 5oo - 550 k's from a tank if I behave (which is rarely).... I like the Optimax as well and don't notice much of a performance change. I wouldn't use AMPOL premium again if my life depended on it as it was like driving a coomodore with a miss ( oh, I forgot, that is a standard Expensive Daewoo tune) Haven't tried BP yet but will to see if there is a difference.

Hi guys, I took my XR6T to Ford here in Tamworth the other day and the service dude said that he needed to update my PCM as it hadn't had it yet. I had read that Ford had been doing little nasties to our XR6T's and wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not to let him. I did agree, BUT, he didn't want me to watch him and I said that if I couldn't then he wouldn't. He agreed but was not happy. THEN, he kept trying to shield the pc....... I think my XR6T new that he was trying to hurt her and wouldn't let him do anything to her. He told me to bring it back and leave it with him for 2 hours so he could manually do it...... I am worried!!!!!!! What do you guys think??????
