    18" Alloys

cnc .... jack up an XR and take a wheel off !!! the wheels weighing 15-20kg .... I think you might be dreaming 40-60kg diet for the BA would be good ... not in the wheels though
  3. xrcism .... I would not have thought of an happy nutter knowing where I lived after the car I sold him/her broke down as cars do !! (especially when you have just bought/sold the car) got to be worth something for the dealer to take care of the outgoing, especially if the car is reaching the end of it's life. Better than some bunny boiler buying your old car privately...
  4. saw the two door today .... Huuuuuuuuugggggeeee front door ... !!!!!!! didn't do anything for me some may like it but I reckon it looks like a $35000 throw-away rear doors .. I wonder about impact the moved door pillar has had on the body rigidity... oh well ....
  5. actually the alarm it chirps nicely, not too loud and just enough to let you know it's on .... others I've had have been loud to the point of being embarassing
  6. turbo6 .... I shared the same experience .... !!! spent $8 on a lockable cap ... utes come a little lean eh! Have you got an alarm fitted? I got a "defence pack" (whatever) from the dealer and they tune your remote entry keypad into the alarm. Everything was fine .. when I got home on the delivery date I started to sort the keys and stuff .... yes yes yes ... for the utes there is only one remote entry keypad so that's all I got .... went back to the dealer and they said that's right, utes only come with one keypad ... $70 later I had two !! cheap great ute ... love the live axle and no traction control :o

    Custom Plates

BLKXRT - sweet black ute .... yesterday I was watching two guys standing next to my ute and I heard one guy say "look .. black XR8 ... what a wa*ker, this car is only a six, what a wa*ker, it is not an eight!!" it is strange what people miss in a number plate and on the other hand what people can read into a personalized plate..... I would have never seen what he saw ... d'oh
  8. Name: Rob Age: 49 (from now on !!) Sex: Male Current drive: 2003 XR6T sweet black Ute, 2002 Mustang Cobra Married: .... was ..... pheww!! Location: Melbourne Occupation: Self employed structural/geotechnical engineer
  9. live on a dirt/dusty/muddy road .... I have never washed the engine bay ... a yearly steam clean ( in winter) to check for oil leaks ... interested to hear what others think and do
  10. the engines for the auto are the manual are the same with the same power (at the flywheel). the auto looses a bit more than the manual through the auto box and therefore has slightly less power at the rear wheels ... generally I think the auto is faster in the 400m (and 0-100) as the times it gains in doing its less than 1/4 second gear changes compared to the 1/2sec or more gear changes in the manual. Over the quarter or 400m there are 2 changes ... the auto takes about 1/2 a second doing this the manual takes about a second doing this during these times the car is only rolling and not accelerating. Most manuals on other cars are generally faster as the losses in the auto are too great but in the XR6T (and most other turbos) the autos do a better job of keeping you "on boost" and therefore accelarating at max ... Auto and manual in the XR6T are neck and neck ps a good driver will most likely get more out of the manual by upshifting with revs on the rise just shy of the redline, but this beats your car with a heavy stick everytime ... and it won't like it for long
  11. a small tree branch landed on my bootlid last week - no tint.... phantum colour with "paint protection" the paint protecton actually appeared to peal back leaving the paint untouched ... I was really surprised to see this "plastic like" film. ... go to your dealer to confirm if you had paint protection done, they may even help, sh!t happens good luck
  12. Run-out sales Vehicle Details Vehicle 2002 FORD MUSTANG Cobra Price $55,990 Kilometres 90 Body 2 door Coupe Colour RED Transmission 5 speed Manual Engine 8 cylinder Petrol Multi-point injected 4.6L (4601cc) Reg Plate 113506 VIN 1FAFP47V02F118263 Stock # 113506 Comments NEW VEHICLE GST INCLUSIVE PLUS $1495 DEALER DELIVERY, PLUS GOV AND STAT CHARGES Dealer Details Licence # xxxx Location Victoria I spent $79,000 for a Cobra convertable last September. About 250 others bought them for prices between $75,000coupe and $85,000conv last year and the year before. People like me had faith in FORD.... Imagine having finance on a car that depreciated $30,000 in about 6 months. If I write the car off in the second year I get about $60,000 market value and still owe another $25,000 on finance.. I can't sell it, re-finance it !!! rock and a hard place. Ford tells me that the rrp is $89,000 for a convertible and assures me that the sell out will have minimal impact on the value of my car ... Can't figure that ??? they must think I'm stupid !!! Ford are offering up to $20,000 dollars as incentives for the dealers to get rid of these classic cars.. and then the dealer can offer some their margin on top of that.. I feel ripped off, fool be me for supporting Ford... I love Ford but they have badly cheated me and 250 other Ford supporters. Those who have bought new performance Fords just prior to BA (including T's) are going to feel ill as they read the car classifieds. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- svtang xr6t sedan (for her) xr6t ute (for me) and a Mustang Cobra (for the dog)
  13. at any rpm ... the torque (in nm) is the kW at that rpm times the 9549 (or 9459??? I can't exactly remember as I'm only a halfbreed nerd) then divided by that rpm so 240kw at 5250rpm .....240x9549/5250= 436nm scratching my head
  14. I hope that not to much is going to be expected from the Unichip with regard to the "off the mark" ability of the XR6T. Running a Unichip in my Cobra and though it is fantastic, it can only do so much (whether n/a or s/c or turbo) at low revs... The DRIVER has to contribute and practise his/her starts. Just load up the auto a little at first (say 900-1100rpm) and then let go of the brake and plant the foot. When the auto changes gear while you are flat out it goes through a lot worse than just being loaded up a little. Remember too that just planting the foot on the gas on an auto at rest is worse than slightly loading it up. ps ... I'm hanging out for the Unichip (with some Ford acknowledgement) ... there will be more power and about the same torque but spread out more (1500-5000 instead of 2000-4500). Rob proud owner of Phantum XR6T (for her) and a Black XR6T ute (for me), both autos and the dog's car is a manual Mustang Cobra (chipped and Koni'ed) which goes like the wind.... chips all round and they would go pretty well the same. :D
  15. brake and restrain till the auto is loaded and the rpm is 1700-1900.... let the brake go and plant the right foot ... 0-100 in less than 6 every time ... the quarter in about 13.8-14.00
