    Hopefully wed 9th July, the gearbox should have worn in by then. Will post WSID results, however it drives like a tight car even with lower ''Dyno figures''. It drives linear and shifts hard but forward, if that makes sense. Not all or nothing! MJS Cheers Joe@CMS

    If anyone reads this update, life and babies have interrupted things, car has since blown the ZF box. Stacked with clutches and replaced twisted input shaft. Gearbox and engine retuned by Joe@CMS Motors. His dyno reports 370rwkw with a little wheel spin. Cant wait to pick up. No disrespect to other tuners but these figures seem to be more realistic. (read full post). Will report track times @ WSID.

    Usual codes are abuse, traction and idle(has been stalling since the gain in power, 370 to 454rwkw) . My tuner has sorted them out but something new always pops up! Im going to try something on my first run, which funny enough was an accident when it was my mates car with 370rwkw. I put in Perf mode in 2nd to do the burnout but forgot to tap down to first, so car takes of fairly slow considering what I knew it had. So I'm sweating on the 1-2 gear change that doesn't come til 3/4 track into 3rd and passed trap 12.4@116. The engine light came on and since it wasn't my car that was it, one pass. So with more power/torque Ill try it again 2nd in Perf and lean on it hard 2000ish.

    I'm changing that luck tomorrow!! WSID for any Sydney members, weather permitting, looks good though. I know I've had a good night when I drive home with the engine light on! Its on so much I'm worried when its off.....

    Yeah I know, I'm pretty sure you have been following this post and a bit has been said about my crappy time vs power claim. First run- I did a big burnout, car put transmission in limp mode, 17 sec. Trac off. Second run- I did small burnout, Mashed the pedal and car went berko at 1st to 2nd gear change bent all out off shape seriously. 13.8@116 Trac off. Third run- I figure Trac on and see if it improves, it does 12.6@118.26. Tyres Hankook Ventis Rs-3 semi slicks, still no Yoko Advan Neoveo(I had on previous ride WRX). I know racing with Traction on is pointless but it made sense at the time considering I wanted to go home, with a decent time in my daily driver that I have spent plenty coin on!

    It is 454rwkw/608rwhp, happy dynos aside, I'm as sh11ty about time/trap speed as members are skeptable. The best run is 12.6@118.23, anyone with 350-450+ think about how much time I was losing every time the traction pulled me up. even .1 second each time say 10 times in 400m makes 11.6@??? Im going to WSID on Wed weather permitting and seeing my tuner before then so hopefully I have better news.

    I,am familiar with happy dyno's, the conditions were perfect(cold&dry). I can only give stats on engine mods, that have been given to me, like I mentioned PW fuel regulator and W460 2.4L Surge tank(does that help)? I had putrid traction at WSID, therefore the figures. Best run 12.6@118.23 with traction ON!!. Slow out the box and traction control holding me back. I'm looking on the net for 275/40/17 MT E/T Radials, Seems hard , my have to buy them new, then post some real times!

    I don't know what dyno it is but it is a AWD dyno if that helps. In regards the injectors we reached 440rwkw with 42lb and Walboro 500hp, when ran out of fuel to motor. Put in 60lb made 454.2 at 19psi. Does the fact I also put in PW fuel regulator and W460 2.4L surge tank help explain anything. These days I'm a pay a professional as opposed to 20yrs ago when I stood in the engine bay of my LC Torana and tinkered!!

  16. I have standard FG 18'' with Hankook Ventus R-S3. 245/40/18. Good street tyre just didn't hold on the track!

    The ZF box went into limp mode on my first run, I have done 2x 4L60E gearboxes(ls1's) at the Drags best part about this one was, I rang my tuner and he said''Turn the ignition off then back on and see how you go". It worked!! and I ran two more runs,and its fine now, gotta like that. Apart from the Drags I don't do burnouts, so it doesn't hit the limiter so you are most likely correct there, I have been known to spin the wheels whilst doing about 100kph on a private tarred farm road! I run 98 BP ultimate, I don't believe e85 is appropriate for my daily driver when its hard to obtain apparently.

    I'll post in this topic again after I have ran with E/T Tyres a few times, and have slips and see if I can gain some insight! Anyway great to swap my rex for a XR6T. Either way 400+rwkw is FUN. Best car purchase I've ever made!!!

    It is a very good point about power and 1/4 Mph.( don't always mate) I ran three passes last wed the first run I did a long crowd pleasing burnout to put heat in my 245/40/18 Hankooks. When the tree dropped I gave it WOT and the ECU placed the ZF in limp mode. This is where someone with knowledge can help me, as I crawled along I passed 330f at 8.84sec then shortly after that,the ECU gives my gearbox back and I went on to pass at 17.3@106.23mph. Does this help 'prove' my power? P.s Has this happened to anyone else? Scan0005.pdf

    First run. Trans went into limp mode Second run. 1/3 down track boost kicks I on Hankook venis street tyres car all over the shop recover. 13.8@116.23mph Third run. TRACTION ON spun half track 12.6@118.26. I need ET Radials or similar. Look up your Moroso calculator and see what that trap speed is equivalent to.

    Ok good call nice run, Was that 11.2 on quality street tyres and wheelspin that bent you out of shape or spun straight, either way you would have to have lost traction with 450 odd kw. spin in 2-3-4?
  22. Good tyre! My second run 1/3 track the boost kicks in and im all over the shop at about 100kph, not something I want to experience again. Third and last run 12.62@118.23mph with slow start and traction ON slipping most the way. 454.2awkw should put down lest an 11, I need advice on a good drag tyre!
  23. Hankook 245/40/18 Not Japanese, not chinese, I think that DMZ between N/S Korea. Street. I need to know Drag options?
  24. I have 454.2awkw and am finding it hard to get that torque to the ground. What tyres MT, nitto, BF etc and set up do I need to turn all that time and coin into a decent E/T?? P.s No torque convertors but would talk diff ratios, considering FG 08 with ZF Trans and I believe 2.73 final drive....
