I got my mate to drive the xr6t and we had a squirt next to each other and the SS pulls away. Please help me what should I do?????

I only fill up on Shell Opitimax. Ain't it good when your ocmpany pays your fuel as well. Hi, My lease car is about to expire in the next 3 months and it has come time to order it so I can drop off and pick up my new car. My current car is a stock XR6T manual, and I have had lots of FUN FUN FUN But I thinking of going Auto becuase from what I have heard the Auto is qucikier, but I'm wondering now with the 6 speed manual if it will be quickier(manual). Or if the auto will still be quickier. Any thoughts, facts ........

I had my brakes machined 2 time in 160000kms. When I first when to ford they told me it my drivin(probably is) then second time round they told that if it happens again there is an upgrade they can do to it. Does any on know if this is true or is the dealer just a clown.

I was wanting to modify my car but it is a lease car and I don't want anyone to tell. Does any one have a picture od the stage 1 aps kit cause I would like to see how it looks. Also does any one know any other modification, eg exhuast from >???? for so dollars for 12 kw at the real wheels. Any comments would be appricaiated.

Must be fun driving an auto. put foot down However driving a manual rev high waiting for the lights to change, drop clucth little wheel spin, car takes off like a rocket listen for the right rievs when BANG smack it into 2 chirp the ass end etc etc you getr the picture.

Have you timed your car, how quick is it? 0-100 ??? 1/4 mile ????

Had a go at heathcate race way(melb) and was getting about 14.4 for the qtr mile. Will look at my time sheets at home but I think for 100 meters it was 6.1. The car was still new though about 600km on the clock so I'll have to wait for my cousins to hire the track again, I reckon I can do much quicker. Plus never driven a manual before(only 600km under my belt) I reckon I could get 14.1 or 14.0. Just for the record(I have an xr8 260) my xr8 got 14.2 for the qtr mile(auto). My cousins owns a race car a comes down every 3 months.

Has anyone perfected a Launch Tecniques for the manual xr6 turbo. I been trying but still haven't got it right. What I mean is like this eg Yeah had the revs at 2500rpms, with traction off and dropped the clucth, little wheel spin but took off quick. This would help me lots(and every one else) to shave some time when some one lines me up. They usally get infront but half a car length before a distroy them.

Not that I'm sure how this effects the time (if at all), however is Esky's car a UTE? Regardless, I bloody good time and would suggust he's experienced at a 400m dash. As for Auto or Manual, it looks like you just can't loose either way. Nope mine is a sedan. When racing my rotary, Pacman gave me the hint about bouncing the throttle at launch to get the turbo spooling. Difficult to explain, but the boost gauge doesn’t lie. It helps if you bounce the throttle and feather the clutch a little. Otherwise you get to much wheel spin. I’ve found the XR6T is a temperament thing. A little heat and your stuffed. On a nice cool night, she drives like a dream. In the latest issue of Zoom martin has some interesting comments on the XR6T driving characteristics during full throttle gear shifts. Could explain peoples perceptions that the auto is quicker over the 1/4. esky Which zoom, what does it say, is it worth buying the mag. Or could you tell us what it says. :hiwelcome:
