I am with Wesfarmers and they run rings around all the other mobs I have been with. I have never had a claim from an accident but I had a truck spray my car with stones in a 60 zone where they had just layed the stones. I was doin my 60 and he was doin 80 or more. I had the roof, bonnet, front guards, and bumper sprayed and they payed it no ifs no buts, cost just under a grand. Big thumbs up. To have my car insured commercially costs me $1000 if I had to insure privately was $850.

This is what I have gone through. I had my tunes done by Simon from Xtreme over in WA and after getting the edit back putting it in my car went out on a "private" road smoked the tyres like nothing, ran perfect. Took it out on the highway put my foot down in second gear got to 4000rpm and it started to ping, started losing power, overboosting. The only difference mine had to the other cars he had done was a XR8 snorkel. So I blocked it off and hey presto, powers back no pinging, boost is normal and everything was as he said. You have to remember that by doing the exhaust you can get an extra 3 or 4psi more than the car is programmed to causing the car to run lean and start to ping. This is from my own experience anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shouldnt you send it back so it can work with your 2nd cai?? Im sure Simon would want to fix that for ya. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He hasnt done one with just a CAI and he doesnt want to send me a tune unless he can guarantee no problems. I have a set of 968's I want to fit soon anyway so I'll just wait till he gets a car with injectors to do R&D on then I will get another tune off him to suit the injectors and CAI. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't see that a 2nd CAI would make any difference to a custom tune and visa versa. I've closed mine off and re-opened it a couple of times with no noticable affect. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am only speaking from MY experiences, Simon had one other car with the same tune mine has with a CAI which did the same thing. The car would not run properly with the cai period. He fixed it for him straight away but I have to send mine over to him to fix. Since I blocked the cai it has gone perfect, no pinging, smokes the tyres at 3500rpm anyway so it hasnt really bothered me, keep the intake blocked and I have no problems. Like I said in a previous post, I have a few other plans for it so when I am ready to do them I will retune it properly. For now I am happy with the car the way it is. Sorry bout hijacking the thread, Ive made my point.

If you didnt tell capa about the exhaust when you got the edit dont bother.

No probs mate, hope it helps. If it turns out to be the problem it might be as simple as getting your tuner to take a degree or two out of the timing.
-
Have you got a cold air intake?? If you have with a standard tune you will get a boost spike and pinging due to the turbo spooling up quicker (from having less restriction due to CAI) than the program has been programmed to. This happened to me, I blocked the CAI and it fixed the problem straight away. You will find the power will increase somewhat aswell.

The heat shrink, cable ties, and hose clamps should take you over 300.

I think he is talking about the instrument cluster not the guage cluster.

So Craig removed the seat. Big whoop. Whats a seat weigh anyway 25 or 30kg. What if Victor Bray weighed only 80kg instead of 140kg (or whatever he weighs) you reckon he would get criticized for that? Doubt it. Craig good onya buddy, Champion effort regardless of the critics, I wish I had the dedication you have towards drag racing and in particular the Turbo clan.

She has already spent the last 9 months or so behind bars. Guilty or not that is a long enough sentence for anyone even if she was guilty. Considering the low life scum that bombed that night club only got 2 1/2 years. Indonesia's guilty until proven innocent system sure sucks. You can have a whole speed lab, get caught and still not serve 20 years in Australia. I wouldnt go over there even if I was paid to , just for the corruption in their whole justice system or should I say injustice system.

Yeah one tuff stocko or one very generous dyno. How is 224RWKW out of a stock T proof that the dyno reads right? I would have thought otherwise.

I think it might be French for NSW just got their kicked.

There was a 630hp Hyundai on that page ?? Oh I better have another look, I must have got sidetracked.

Chiptorque on the Gold Coast has the injectors you are looking for, they are about 195 each. This is where I got mine from, talk to Stefan or Lachlan. They are top blokes, and keen to answer any questions.

They dont come out from factory but the sockets are there. Just go to repco or supercheap or something and get 12volt wedge type bulbs. There is one socket under the glovebox and the other one is easier found with the fuse cover taken off. It is down the bottom of that. Makes a good mod for about 2 bucks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Assuming you have premium sound. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah yes sorry forgot about the premium sound bit.

I wouldnt want my car back after it had been stolen anyway, if they want it bad enough they can have it. that's what I pay insurance for. Datadot might save a few bucks a year on insurance but after it is stolen insurance company will say "Hey good news we found your car wrapped around a tree. Good thing it had datadots now all we have to do is fix it ". So then you get your pride and joy back after it has been trashed and soiled by some druggo loser that needs to get money for a fix. Would you want to drive that car again?? I know I wouldnt. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is not the idea of the datadot I don’t think. The datadot is a deterrent to car thieves by way of tattooing every panel and most parts. This is a means of tracing stolen parts back to individual fencers and ultimately prosecution of the thief and or the group that is stripping and/or selling parts or vehicles. Any Car thief will avoid a datadotted car in preference to one that isn’t and even go for the lesser valued vehicle so as not to risk being traced when fencing parts. Stealing a car for Joy riding is somewhat different and as such datadot will obviously have no influence on the car thief/joy rider as they have no intension of selling parts or the vehicle. There is a very large market in Australia for stolen car parts and especially for upmarket parts such as HSV and FPV and this is where it’s at its best as a deterrent. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah good point but alot of the time they will just steal the car then strip it down. The stolen parts will get bolted to another vehicle within a week or two of the car being stripped, which will make it harder to recover the stolen parts. It would make it easier to fry the big fish as they would have a garage full of datadotted parts. What I am tryin to say is the parts these "big fish" peddle off, most times would be to someone unsuspecting whom the cops wouldnt look twice at. Cops wouldnt look twice at an XR6T driving around with an F6 intercooler, or Rear wing off a stolen vehicle, and those parts will most likely never be recovered. If my car had it from new I wouldn't knock it back but I wouldnt go out and pay to get it done... Sorry gone off topic now.

Who did you speak to at Herrod. Considering Rob went into the Edit in conjunction with CAPA someone is full of :o I think I know who it is. Myself and others who attend Calder have bumped into numerous people in XRt's and XR8's with the Herrod tune. They cannot work out why they cannot break into 13.5 or under for the qtr. As most melbourne guys know, herrods are aftermarket accessories suppliers, NOT TUNERS. I will pose the question that is always thrown up "Name one fast Herrod tuned car?" I now know of 4 people who had the Herrod tune, are not happy with it and have gone to nizpro or whoever to get it re-tuned, and the cars have come back completely different, with happy customers and very different power, same readings but different power. Anyone who tells you that you do not need a custom tune shows how little they know about these cars, and how individual each one is in relation to power output and tolerances. If you want to put your car in the hands of someone who seems to think the injectors have a limitless application, I wish you the best. Nomatter what the component they all have limits. I would rather change my injectors to ensure there is enough fuel, than find out at some point their limit when my engine goes bang. One testament to Herrods is Cameron's GT, the herrod flagship car, well over $20k spent on various mods including a herrod edit, and a fantatsic qtr mile best time of 13.8. Need I say more. I just cannot believe how arrogant and ignorant they can be. Flame me if you like, but what I have said is fact! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree with you. I have had the stealth since mid January and after 3 trips up and down the coast it is still sitting in the cupboard. These edits with base tunes arent worth a pinch of . For instance, I live in NQ where the temps are regularly around the 30 degree mark and sometimes higher. Now Rob is a great bloke, whom I have all the time in the world for, he has tried helping me out and I cant totally blame him for the tune not working in its base form (for me anyway). Now that I have found someone nearby to do custom tunes I will be going to him tomorrow morning to fix this thing once and for all. Now the base tunes are created in Melbourne (in Herrods case). I dont know what the temps are down there but I am assuming they are on average 15 to 20 degs cooler, which in some cases will give a 20rwkw advantage straight away. I would nearly bet my bottom dollar that if it was the same temp here I wouldnt have had any problems (surging, overboost etc). In my opinion the base tunes which are done in one place wont work (safely) all over Australia. Keep a few pennys spare and be prepared to get a custom tune for a couple of hundred bucks cause you will need it.

Sorry mate I meant an xr6t in merc silver.

What about Mercury silver :cussing: I wanted to buy a GTP in Blood orange, but they dont make them in that colour either. They do the XR8 in Blood Orange but not the GT .

I have seen this scam but last time he was selling a Toyota Supra shipping from the same place in Rome.
